Orgasm ?

So, I know I have to wait 6-8w PP to have sex. But, what are the rules about orgasms in other ways...?

I'm impatient and it's been months since I was allowed to have sex. I need something.

Re: Orgasm ?

  • From what I've heard, you should (ahem, not that all of us did) wait 6-8 weeks for any sort of penetration. If you are going to wait on that though, nothing says you can't have fun other ways.
  • I think you're supposed to wait until 6 weeks for orgasm too. That said, I held out until about 5 weeks PP.

Really? I've never heard this. I waited all of 2 weeks for a little fun.

ETA: And by fun I'm not saying I had sex at 2 weeks PP. But I didn't wait for 6 weeks on that either.

  • Just found this link. It talks about orgasms after giving birth. Hope it helps!

I could be wrong. Maybe a c-section is different than a vag? Don't know.

ETA: Just saw your link below! Thanks! :)

  • Eh, we had sex at four weeks, and have done this a few times since, and I don't have my exam until Friday.  I felt pretty comfortable doing it, but did get fairly sore after the first couple of times where my episiotomy was.

  • My hospital discharge papers said nothing in the vagina, which I took to mean no tampons and no penetration.

  • I would think an orgasm might actually be beneficial.  They always made me have contractions, so I think it might aid in shrinking your uterus.

That's my theory anyway, but I'm no doctor.

  • I was given the green light for sex and orgasm three weeks after c section....was healing well and feeling good..but did try and it hurt...did the orgasm part though...without the sex if you know what I mean and my tummy did hurt quite a bit afterwards. Then tried again 4 weeks and it was all good!!! Good luck and do whatever makes YOU feel comfortable.
