Nora was always a TERRIBLE sleeper. A couple weeks ago we played around with Ferber but were very inconsistent with it bc we were not comfortable letting her cry. (She wouldn't just cry, she'd SCREAM).
On Sunday night she was in a decent mood so I put her down while she was drowsy but awake. She was fussing, but not screaming her head off. I got caught up in a conversation with MH and was not focused on the crying. All of a sudden I realized the crying had stopped - it had only been 20 minutes since I put her down and she was out cold.
Ever since then, she falls asleep in less than 10 minutes, on her own with no check-ins. She naps for MUCH longer and wakes up 1-2x/night - a welcome change from 3-4! I have no idea how the flip switched so quickly, but we are all much happier and well-rested!
I want to add that on Sunday night, after she fell asleep so quickly, I decided to start a sleep log. I have already discovered a pretty strict sleep pattern that she has set for herself. Writing it down has really helped and I highly recommend it!
