if you chart (or did before), what thermometer did you use?

Does a regular digital thermometer work for this?

    It does work fine, but a BBT is more accurate (to the hundredth decimal point instead of the tenth).  You can get one for like $10 at Walgreens.  It has a pink tip on it :)
