With out knowing your theme, colors, budget, how many centerpieces needed ect, ect, it is hard to make suggestions. Here are a few websites that I visit when ever I want inspiration:
This one has alot of flower centerpieces, but I also like the one where she covers the hurricane vases with colored paper. I think that this could be really versitile, and if working with a small budget - everyone has a glass vase, you could just borrow a few.
This one is specifically gear toward baby showers. Her site is my personal FAVORITE. Although it doesn't focus on centerpieces, you could get some fun inspirational ideas here:
Want to do a diaper cake as a centerpiece? The white/cream diapers give it a nice backdrop to do just about anything.

Last time i threw a baby shower I found some cute stuffed animals for the centerpieces and then scattered random baby related items such as plastic diaper pins, little booties, bottles, and such. I got most of the stuff at a party store and it was super cute and inexpensive!
For my cousin's shower, we're making mini diaper cakes and we're going to put flowers on top of it, so we're using them as the vase. They turned out cute!
