is it worth it?
It was free so I'm not wasting any money. I didn't think my birthing class was really helpful.
Don't skip the BFing class...I thought it was very worthwhile.
(DH and I are not taking childbirth classes, though.)
I found it to be helpful. They gave a lot of tips and tricks for making sure it goes smoothly and solutions for when it doesn't. Also, it was great for DH to learn more about it and how he could be "involved".
My BF class was suuuuper helpful. I'm so glad that I went. DH went too, and he also felt like he got a lot out of it.
Jusgirl1082:I skipped mine yesterday.? It was a one night class and I was in L & D from 3:30 AM to 8:30AM then I went to work until 3:30 PM.? I was so tired, I didn't go...The hospital has 2 lactation consultants that are available while you are recovering plus all of the nurses are highly educated in BF.? I am not really worried about missing the class.
I'm not doing mine for this reason. ?I just plan to ask for lots of help during my recovery!?
I never took a BF class. ?I didn't get much out of the childbirth classes either. I knew most of the stuff already.
I highly recommend the That's What They're For book. ?Very helpful in those first few days. ? Also the lactation specialists at your hospital will be able to help you out if need be. ?I never felt the need to take a BF class-I was more a learn when you need to type of person.?
