Re: STM+ Check In 1/18

  • How far along are you? 13 weeks

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? My biggest right now are insomnia (didn't have any with DS), horrible constipation (similar to DS) and awful gas (never this bad with DS)

Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm just ready to get my NIPT results.  I'm hoping the calm this insane anxiety I'm having.

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly? Probably stressing to finish his nursery and having all the "must have" gear.  We didn't use half of the gear and he didn't sleep in his (finished!) nursery for a few months.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed? We went to Riviera Maya, Mexico on our honeymoon. I had been to Mexico before, but the fact that it was our honeymoon made it amazing.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

Im feeling kind of normal, thankfully. I have these vivid lucid dreams that make me feel like I haven't slept a wink.

This pregnancy so far is easier than the first because I've been more diligent about fiber intake, colace, psyllium husk when it's been a while, etc. with the first it was raging hemorrhoids from first tri on, but this time I'm keeping them at bay

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

nothing. Just woke up from another anxiety dream - I haven't waited tables in 12 years but dreams where I've been sat with a whole section at once always do the trick!

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

I got nothing here. I stressed out a lot but with dd being 10 days late, the last month was just a whole lot of uncomfortable waiting.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

We went to Vietnam for three weeks and Thailand for a week. We had done Thailand already so it was really quick there but loved Vietnam - the food was fantastic and I loved the energy of Saigon! Because of the war, over half the city's population was under 25 at the time (2007), and you could feel that young energy and optimism.

  • @satsumasandlemons I'm 8 days post draw.  It says on my portal that the estimated completion date is the 20th (Friday) so I'm hoping that I don't have to wait until Monday!

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

I'm just tired of 1st tri. I'm tired of being tired, always having a rumbly stomach(whether from hunger or indigestion), all over acne, dizziness. I NEVER had any of this with my other 3 and going almost 8 weeks feeling like this Im just done.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

Really everything. I was only 19 and working a minimum wage retail job. His father was not employed which made things very stressful. Luckily I'mvery good at a budget and was able to save for everything we needed while still paying the bills.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

Unfortunately we didnt get to go in a honeymoon. With his job and having 4 kids,2 in school, just wasnt possible. While it wasnt an actual vacation when I went to Europe in high school for an ambassador program. We went to England, Wales and Ireland. Never had so much fun on an "educational" trip.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

No apatite, which I don't remember with my DD. But also, it's been nearly 6 years- so not sure how accurate my memories are.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

I'm also waiting for my NIPT results, so I feel your pain @GeorgiaWife6912

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

I worried that people were just going to show up to the delivery room uninvited. But I told my nurses and they assured me they wouldn't let anyone in- also no one tried. A few friends showed up uninvited afterwards, but that was nice.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

We did a cruise to the Caribbean, it's been our only cruise and was lovely. Nice to do multiple stops and see lots of different things. Also, nice to see lots of different places without having to pack/unpack- made it stress-free compared to other vacations.

  • How far along are you?
    15w4d

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancy?
Still with the annoying, persistent back and hip pain when lying down. Rhinitis, but only at about 4 am when I wake up because I need to pee and can't breathe. TMJ to the max. Occasional RLP. Pretty much par for the course for how my body does pregnancy, though with my son, it all happened quite a bit later.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
Nope, pretty solid this week, though it would be nice if the receptionist at the satellite office where I'm having my anatomy scan would be a little more helpful with simple questions.

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby that, looking back, was silly?
Honestly, not much. My husband was ramping up for deployment and my sister was getting married four weeks before my due date (and I was the matron of honor) and I just didn't have much time to worry about all of that. I set the nursery up myself at 37 weeks (including assembling all the furniture) because my husband was out to sea and I had been back on the East Coast for the wedding for the past 7 weeks. My son was born at 39 weeks exactly, so two weeks later. But I'm also a very go-with-the-flow kind of person, so there wasn't time or leftover energy to stress ahead of
    time.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place that you have vacationed?
My honeymoon was an epic two month road trip on which my husband and I saw 33 states. It was an amazing experience that we were able to do because we lived on the East Coast and my husband had orders to Washington for a class he needed for his next duty station. So, because the Navy allows for 30 days travel to get there, he took leave and we took our time getting across the country. We then spent three weeks in Washington state and then spent 10 days coming back across. It was really perfect for us, and didn't cost us much at all.

Two years ago, about month before I got pregnant with my son actually, my two best friends and I coordinated to meet up in Bali from Hawaii, Boston, and Perth, Australia, where we all respectively live, and spent a month backpacking around Bali, Java, and the two Australian coasts. My husband was deployed at the time so it was an especially welcome distraction and only cost about $2500, including hotels, food, and airfare, for the entire monthlong trip.

    How far along are you?

    I am 15w+5d.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

Having lots of aches and pains, and sciatica is not helping. I don't remember having so many aches throughout the day this early on with my first.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

My lovely DS has been waking up at 6am for the past week, compared to his usual 730am. Hubby and I just want our extra hr or so back

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

I was so stressed with family issues in '15 with my first pregnancy, but it's still going on so, I'm still realllly stressed.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

I haven't been out of the country yet, but Sanibel Island was a very beautiful vacation we went on.

  • How far along are you? 12 weeks 6 days

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? I am sick every single day and throw up as soon as I wake up. It's pretty much in line with how my other two went.

Rant/Rave/Questions? Not off the top of my head

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly? I can't think of anything for DS but with DD i was so stressed about getting our house unpacked and her room all put together. She was a baby, she didn't freakin care if her room only had a crib.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed? We went to Alaska and I loved it, still my favorite vacation to date.

  • How far along are you? 16 weeks exactly!

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? Still have morning sickness, but I'm on the mend- very much like last pregnancy. Like @satsumasandlemonsthis time around I am also having vivid dreams- they're pretty cool, actually.

Rant/Rave/Questions? My 2.5 year-old DD has been acting very out of sorts lately and I am slowly losing my mind. Last night I literally had to walk away from the dinner table because I just couldn't take the whining. Jesus take the wheel!

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly? Learning all about breastfeeding- it really didn't help prepare me at all.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed? DH and I did one of those all-inclusive vacations in Cozumel for our honeymoon. It rocked.

  • @Clio the same with my 2.5 year old DS! Even his teacher has commented on it.  Ugh! I don't know what else to do with that kid!

  • How far along are you?

    12 weeks

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

This pregnancy is much harder than the others.  I'm still on bed rest,  but here's hoping I'm freed at tomorrow's doctor's appointment.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

    None

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

I was so worried about having the nursery be perfect.  With my first,  she didn't sleep in her nursery until she was 1 and my second was 18 months.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

I didn't go on a honeymoon.  We were married in Feb 2011, but since we were teaching we decided to hold of until summer for a honeymoon.  Then we found out I was pregnant in April of 2011 and that canceled our plans.  My favorite vacations are ones where we can road trip and go geocaching.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

Pregnancy symptoms gone. I was still having nausea at this point with my daughter. However, I'm having dizziness, unusual exhaustion, and generally look like death which is making me think I am anemic again and need to get back on my blood builder supplement.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

Like many others before me, I wanted that nursery done. It didn't actually end up being done. She's 1.5 YO and we never put up the mobile or put any pictures on the wall. Lol. Oh well.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

I already mentioned this in Tuesday ticker change yesterday but we went to Koh Samui, Thailand, and even though the travel part was rough, I will always look back on it as the best days of my life. I really hope to be able to go back one day.

  • I'm too lazy to fill out the whole thing but I'm super jealous of all of these amazing honeymoons and trips!  @ktewart Bali sounds incredible.

I was a freak about everything during my pregnancy with DD- obsessed with prewashing everything, sterilizing bottles, packing my hospital bag, etc.  I guess I just felt like I had no control over when the baby came but I could at least control those things?  None of it mattered in the end and I'm definitely trying to be more go with the flow this time!

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

Entering second trimester I'm getting some relief. My first pregnancy was a breeze.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

Rant... I have an awful cold and can't take anything other than Tylenol.

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

A hospital bag. My friend was always prepared for everything way in advance (we were pregnant together), and she was telling me how it's already packed to go. Looking back, I didn't use anything from it. Just really needed a toothbrush and charger.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

My dream honeymoon was Hawaii and we made it happen with a lot of planning, lots of airbnb and supermarket food. But mixed in a few indulgences.

I do love London though. I visited there 3 times and always enjoyed it. But haven't been in 13 years....

Honeymooned three amazing weeks in Australia!!!

Otherwise, Portugal was my favorite vacation. 30th birthday trip with two college besties and our husbands. We realized we each cared about different aspects of the trip - so I planned accommodation, another friend planned activities, and the third planned all the meals (when to cook and when/where to go out). It worked SO well, and we all felt so relaxed and fulfilled!

  • How far along are you?

    13 weeks 2 days

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

Just a little nausea. First pregnancy was super easy and no sickness or discomfort at all. This one has been a bit more challenging.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

    Nada

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

I was pretty easy going honestly. Kept my minimalist mentality through pregnancy. But I guess I wanted everything super clean right before baby arrived, which is not all that silly. I'll deep clean at 9 months again I'm sure.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

No honeymoon, but we live by the beach, so I really enjoy vacationing in the mountains and the snow!

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? Baby flutters! Si joint pain, and stupid insomnia.

Rant/Rave/Questions? Nothing right now, I'm trying to be on my best behavior. Which is hard.

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly? I was always worried about having enough, toys/clothes, the things I can buy if I need too.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed? I was 5mo pregnant when DH and I got married, we went to Shreveport, LA and spent the night in a wonderful hotel, went out to eat, shopped the boardwalk the next day. Favorite place to vacation is Gulf Shores.

I can't wait to feel baby flutters! And you're doing a good job behaving haha.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? Restless legs kicked in over the last week which I had last time but it's starting earlier this time.  Had some pretty intense gas/constipation pains which I didn't have at all with DS. Sciatica has started earlier this time around as well.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?  Nothing really.  The things I stressed about getting done (freezer meals, house clean, laundry done) I was happy to have done.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?  We honeymooned at Sandals Resort in Antigua.  Absolutely loved it but would like to go one more time.  Got my BFP with DS a couple weeks after we booked it (married in august so delayed honeymoon until January to escape winter) so it would be nice to go and enjoy the champagne and yummy boozy drinks.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

Nausea, but it is not as bad at this point. I am having more hip pain, but less indigestion.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

I am not taking often prenatals due to nausea. I didn't with  DS either (and ate much less) and he turned out A-ok, but it still freak a me out sometimes.

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

I was actually super glad to have most nursery work out of the way. I think I worried too much about trying to make plans for labor. I valued knowing what to expect and being informed of all options, but could not really anticipate what I would need or want during that time. The birth ultimately started much different than what I wanted, but the overall experience was a much more peaceful process than what I had imagined that it could be.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

Oue honeymoon was close-ish to home in Cincinnati. I enjoyed the minimal stress of that small trip at the that time.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

Insomnia, nausea, lower back pain.  I have hypermobility and my joints and back are forever uncomfortable when I'm pregnant.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

Baby names.. ugh..,are they always this hard?   First trimester screenings came back and we are low risk for everything.

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly? I hardly remember...I was 19 and it was a whirlwind!

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

No honeymoon or vacations yet. My husband and I were married 7 years ago when he finished his PhD..we were broke graduate students and our DD had major health issues... we keep saying we will do a family vacation or honeymoon but life just gets in the way.  We were supposed to go to Hawaii in October/November but that was cancelled for our dd medical issues, Utah January - cancelled for a now cancelled open heart surgery date, Orlando March - cancelled for the new surgery date, Malta July 2017...  you get the idea. Its pretty comical but we do take a weekend away, in state, here and there and we say Disney 2018 for the kids.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? Baby flutters, Sciatica pain, RLP. I don't remember having the sciatica pain with DS

Rant/Rave/Questions? I had blood work drawn on 12/28 for genetic testing. I have yet to get a call from my doctor with results. I called last week and was told they didn't have them yet. Should I call again or just wait until my appointment on Wednesday?

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

Making sure I had enough clothes. Ugh. This time, I actually don't care about clothes. It will be July. The baby can be in a diaper or onesie all day everyday and be fine. Such a waste of time making sure all the clothes were washed and organized!

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed? Went to an all inclusive in Mexico for our honeymoon. It was amazing. Favorite vacation? Man...went on a cruise a few years ago which was awesome. China, Costa Rica. Myrtle Beach, Barcelona, Rome. Dream vacation though.. Bora Bora. I will make it there one day

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies? Right now, mostly headaches. The nausea has pretty much worn off. I'm finally getting some energy back. My boobs aren't quite as sore, but they are enlarged.

Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm starting to freak the hell out. How in the hell are we going to afford another baby? I just did the math on what my health insurance is going to cost and holy shit. My take home pay is going to be less than when I started here 4 years ago on top of having our child care double in price. I want to puke.

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly? Getting the nursery finished. She didn't even sleep there for the first 2 months of her life.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed? We went to Williamsburg, VA.

What symptoms are you having? How does it compare to your previous pregnancies?

Although I vomited almost the entire pregnancy with DD I was was much more I'll first tri with this one.  Still having nausea but only in the evening (last pregnancy it was all day but less vomiting).  I'm extremely exhausted with this pregnancy and wasn't past time.  Bump definitely showing much sooner. Other than that minus occasional gas doing well.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

None really. Curious if anyone here had a vbac and what your experiences were.  DD was frank breech from 20 something weeks so had to have a c-section.  Apparently due to the reason for cs I'm a great candidate for vbac.  I know it's trivial and crazy but I'm excited because I really feel like I missed out on something last time since I never experienced anything regarding labor.

What is one thing you stressed about getting done before you had your first baby, that looking back was silly?

I stressed about everything the first time which is crazy.  I was so worried about everything and I think the Internet had a lot to do with it.  The reality is almost everything was out 9f my control. I literally stayed in my house for 6 weeks afraid of taking DD out and her getting sick.  This time although I will be cautious I won't make myself crazy by being a hermit.

GTKY: Where did you go on your honeymoon OR where is your favorite place you've vacationed?

Honeymoon was spent in NYC and DC. Favorite place vacationed Boracay  Philippines.

  • @GeorgiaWife6912 I too stressed about the nursery and didn't even use it for 8 months.

@LuLiLaEv I just got my car detailed a few weeks ago cause if spilt milk.  That too was a mistake. It's destroyed again even after all my valiant efforts to keep it clean.  Toddlers.

@Clio my 2.5 yo must be a clone of yours.  The whining is incredible. It seems that as soon as I got pregnant she lost her mind and it's constantly "mommy mommy I need my mommy"
