I don't know what HSS or HSD are.

HSG- Hysterosalpingigram (tube check)
HSS - Hysterosonogram (uterus check)

Gotcha. Some women have pain, but if you take ibuprofen an hour before your appointment that can help. I've had two of each and didn't feel any pain. I suggest searching the site for HSG to read others' stories as these tests come up a lot. You can also jump into the daily WTO thread and get questions answered. 

Why did your doctor do an IUI before doing these tests, though? Are you seeing an RE?

Looks like you completely skipped over the suggestions that @lulu1180 so kindly made on your other post.

To reiterate, please lurk some more (to get a feel for the community), read the newbie guide (The Ultimate TTGP Guide - Newbies, Read This First), introduce yourself to the community (via the new newbie thread), and feel free to participate in the daily WTO and TWW threads, where there is also a CS/Q (chart stalks/questions) spot so we aren't making new threads for every question.
As well, there is an IF/Testing thread started every week that you can feel free to introduce yourself and participate in if you'd prefer that.

I've had both procedures done. And I took Advil prior about an hour before. I have to say I didn't really feel much to be honest. I'd say maybe a slight cramp, if you wanna even call it a cramp. I've actually had it done twice and both times I tolerated well. Both times tubes clear, no problems with uterus. I guess if they do find something I imagine it can be more painful. The doctor and nurse were really nice, and you can always let them know you are having pain and they can lessen the fluid they are injecting. Hope this helps.
