With my last clinic they said 24 hours of bed rest and my new one says 48. I also had a consult with one that said no bed rest. It really seems there is no accepted "right" answer on bed rest. Based on my little research, I actually think no bedrest makes sense (since naturally pregnant ppl don't do it), but also taking it easy after transfer. So I'm trying to decide if I am gonna follow my REs advice of 48hrs. I want to understand why she recommends that, but honestly I really don't think it makes a difference in the end.

My clinic recommends staying home for the rest of the day of the procedure. I think this is more because of having had a procedure done to your body, not because the embryo needs it. They do not recommend complete bedrest at all. I had flexibility to stay home another day, but I asked my doctor after the procedure if I should stay home the next day and she said, "It doesn't make a difference for success rates whether you go to work or stay home. You should go to work to take your mind off of the waiting process."

My clinic doesn't recommend bedrest and just says to take it easy for a day or 2. I took the day of and day after off at my last transfer, and then it was the weekend. But I work with kids with behavioral issues. Depending on the day of the week my next one is, I plan on taking 3 days off. I won't stay in bed but I'll take it easy.
TTC since: 1/2015 11/16: IVF #1. BFN 2/23/17: FET with a BFP on 3/8/17. EDD: 11/11/17 with a baby GIRL!
My clinic doesn't recommend one way or the other. My dr said if I have the time to take off, it can't hurt to take it easy. I usually take the day of transfer off and the two following days but my job is fairly stressful and I have a ton of sick time.
*edit: I didn't do strict bed rest while I took off. I took it easy but spent it like I would a rainy weekend at home, napped on and off, did light house work, vegged on the couch and just had a low key few days.
TW....I didn't do any bed rest with my last transfer and it ended ep. So now I worry that I moved too much and caused my embryo to move into my tube. I'm sure it's silly but I can't help thinking that.

My doctor/clinic says not to do bedrest, and to continue activity as normal. He believes that normal activity (obviously not strenuous activity) increases blood flow and is good for implantation. Following transfer I definitely took it easy, but I still went grocery shopping and took my dog for a walk.
*TW* It worked, so I'm happy with his recommendation!

Mine recommended taking it easy the day of transfer but I always had things to do, get to acupuncture, have food, get home. (Harder in New York than suburbs). My first success I even went to a movie and had wine that night. (It was my birthday). Think it was a Friday so I took it easy that weekend but still met friends. Other transfers that failed I went right back to work the next day. I think if it will take it will take, just reduce stress as much as possible.
My clinic says 24 hours but if I transfer on a Friday this time I am not going back to work until Tuesday I'll probably only do the actual bedrest on day 1 though

Mine says 36 hours of bed rest. Meaning be sitting or lying down, being off your feet as much as possible. Their reasoning is that if you are active, blood is being pulled to other parts of your body meaning less blood flow to the uterus.
I have a strong feeling there is research pointing to positives for both bed rest and no bed rest. I only follow this protocol because that's what they tell me to do, and I'm a rule followerer! 2 times it didn't work, but 3rd time was a charm!

I'm honestly praying that nobody ever puts me on bed rest. When I get sick and have to lie down for a couple days, my back starts to ache. It's way better on my body to be able to walk around. I'll do it if a doctor thinks it will help, but research seems inconclusive.
Doesn't blood get to the uterus better if your heart is actually beating? I mean, I'm all for taking it easy, no real workout, but a gentle walk in fresh air seems like it would be good for uterine blood flow.

Mine recommends just taking it easy but no bedrest, they said it's better to have blood flowing. Plus I overthink things so I plan on taking it easy but if I take it TOO easy (just lay in bed) I'll think too much.
ccrm recommended 48 hours (not sitting up less than a 45 degree angle etc) Only getting up to go to the bathroom and to eat (not even prep food to eat)

TW: Pregnancy Mentioned I did a transfer on a Friday then immediately drove 3 hours to my in laws cabin for the weekend. It was nice to get away and be someplace different. I wouldn't say I was on bed rest, but I definitely just took it easy. I watched some movies and did some sewing. But we also went out to dinner so did some moving around. I also worked from home that Monday when we returned. After that, I just did normal activity until the pregnancy test. I'm not sure if any of that made the difference or not, but thought I would share! We transferred two and one stuck!

I did a transfer on a Friday then immediately drove 3 hours to my in laws cabin for the weekend.
