Re: January IVF

• @dragonette505 I'm so happy to hear what a great count you are getting this cycle! Hopefully with the freeze all you can also use the best of your banked embryos rather than the best of that cycle! Hope the OHSS gets better and all goes well tomorrow :)
• So much going on with everyone. Looking forward to reading the next set of updates!

• @kangastein thanks so much! Looks like I got 20, but it's been a rough cycle for me and dh, so who knows
• @dragonette505 I've been a lurker on this board while I prepare for my first IVF cycle next months. I've been pulling for you in particular since I am also AMA. 20 is great. I'm so happy for you.

• @dragonette505 congrats on the 20 and no wonder you are in pain! I hope you recover and the little embryos grow well!
• @sleepyrn I'm so sorry. Sending lots of hugs your way,

@dragonette505 that's awesome, 20!!!!! Congrats girl

@ktc18 welcome! cant wait to hear how the tww goes. Fingers crossed!!!

I have my appt tomorrow to see how many follicles we have so far. I'm so excited, I hope it's good. These injections are wearing me out. I swear Gonal f is like a tranquilizer dart. After I get the injection I'm out 2 hours later
• Lots of good numbers out there! Congrats everyone! And keeping my fingers crossed!

Just waiting on Cycle Day 1... when you think about it, it never happens!
• @IfYouCanDreamIt Thanks!
@JamieH2000 What protocol are you on this cycle? My last antagonist cycle (follistim menopur ganerelix) I retrieved 5 and only 1 fertilized. Last cycle we moved to microdose lupron (lupron 2x daily follistim menopur) and got 17 with 4 embies to freeze... big difference for me!
@Lin&say thank you! Feeling pretty painful in my ladyparts lol, just glad the eggs are out. So awesome you get to be pupo! Can't wait to see the final list of babies from our group!
@kangastein
• @sleepyrn I'm so sorry! That is so frustrating and heartbreaking. I hope you take whatever time you need for yourself! <3

@dragonette505 20 is amazing! I can't wait to see your updates! I hope you are feeling better tomorrow!

@lin&say yay you are pupo!!! That must feel awesome! And scary! Sending so many good vibes your way!

@sleepyrn So sorry, but please take heart, you do have a chance. I may be in a worse situation, only have 3 big follicles now. First IVF I had zero make it to day 5. Having one embryo frozen is not great but also not bad either!! If I make one normal this time I'd be happy.
• @JamieH2000 wow, surprised they started you on the lupron.... usually they start with antagonist since it's a better protocol overall. Lupron is an old skool protocol that they usually save for cases like mine where antagonist wasn't working. So glad you've got more follies happening!
@brela11 Thanks! Fingers crossed I feel much better!

• @dragonette505 Wow, you got a super crop! It's amazing how different protocols can have such different outcomes. You are a trooper and you inspire me not to give up after a couple of failures.
• I'm so sorry, @sleepyrn :(. Sending creepy Internet hugs.

@dragonette505 That's fantastic! Fingers crossed for great results.

I learned today that my doctor did a peer to peer review with my insurance company and my IVF cycle prior authorization was approved. Bit of a relief - of course that made me start to wonder how painful requesting the second one will be...but first things first. Baseline u/s and injection training on Tuesday!

• @dragonette505- my first cycle I did BC and antagonist but it was converted to IUi since two follies grew really fast and the others couldn't keep up. So hopefully combing the estrogen priming and then antagonist will be the magic protocol for me.
@patricej55- 20'is great!! Fx they all keep growing!

I did finally ovulate but it pushes things back a week. I'll start estrogen patches on Wednesday for 1 week, baseline on the 26th and he wants me to start injections gonal-f and Menopur on 27th. I'll start granilix after a few days of injections. New estimated retrieval is Feb 7th.

Im having severe anxiety so doctor put me on a temp med and actually the week delay will help me to get this anxiety under control so that I can start injections and not have this anxiety. So I'm very happy about that.

Oh, one more thing I could use some advice on. My doctor is concerned that part of my anxiety is stress at work, since I have a lot of responsibilities and pressure. The doctor said I could get a note that gets me out of work during the two-three weeks of treatment OR limited work (work in office part time and home part time). I'm a salaried employee so if I work one hour a day, I don't need to take vacation pay hours. If I go out completely, I'll have to use my vacation time. I have plenty of time but I've been trying to save up for when I have the baby, since I'll only get 6 weeks of maternity leave, I was going to use my 6 weeks of vacation for extra maternity leave. If I use half of that now, I may not be able to recover another 3 weeks in time. My boss is not very understanding and she is extremely demanding so I'm not sure what to do.
Me: 37 / Hubs: 42

IVF #2 Feb/Mar Antagonist protocol w/estrogen priming - 0 eggs retrieved (empty follicle syndrome)

• @mandasand if you can work from home I say do it!
• @Lin&;say congrats on being PUPO!

patricej55 wow, 20 is amazing! Fingers crossed they’ll all continue to grow x

JamieH2000 thinking of you, glad things are looking well and hoping you’ll get great results with the new protocol.

dragonette505 congrats on the great fertilisation report!

mandasand glad to hear things are moving along. I second working from home if that’s possible.

AFM just had my ER done and they got 5 eggs, not a great number but better than last time. Already feeling anxious about tomorrow’s report :|

RE mentioned he’d like to do two transfers if we’ll have enough embryos - a day 3 transfer and a blastocyst day 5 transfer. Anyone done or heard of two transfers in same cycle? We had assisted hatching last time.

@patricej55 Sounds like a great first appointment. Fx!

• @Lin&say That's crazy good! Pupo and 6 ❄️
@IfYouCanDreamIt I've never heard of that! Did they say what their theory was on that? Maybe it's related to your lining and receptivity? Or wait! I bet they want to do a day 3 so you will def have something to transfer, then if you have day 5 they will transfer another? But why not freeze? That would be interesting.... twins who implanted 2 days apart!
• dragonette505 They didn't say but as you say I assume it's to have at least something to transfer and since so far we've done only day 3 transfers and one FET, to see if they make it to blastocysts. Aww we'd love to have twins x

@IfYouCanDreamIt Take heart, 5 eggs is still good! I wish I could get that this cycle (now looks like only 3 for me). Plan is freezing day 5 but I'm very nervous and afraid that I should have pushed for a day 3 transfer too...

@dragonette505 Great fertilization report!!

Lin&say What a great number, glad for you!

• Well I just got a call to start taking cetrotide but the nurse said I might have a small polyp. I feel like medicine always causes this. They always do a hysteroscopy and there is never anything there. I find out on Monday from my dr if this will be a fresh or frozen cycle. Praying it's fresh because otherwise we get kicked out of our study which gives us free medication.
• @ifyoucandreamit- congrats on 5!! Fx for a great fert report tomorrow!! That is very interesting about a 3 and 5 day transfer. I suppose it will depend on how many and how they look on day 3?
@mandasand- that's a hard one. Sorry for your boss and job are so stressful. I hear you about the anxiety. My second round I was so anxious. This time I'm managing a little better, but still have my moments. Hang in there. We are literally doing everything we can do take it easy on yourself.
@patricej55- I really hope you can do fresh and stay in the study. Hopefully if they just noticed the polyp now, it's pretty small and won't mess up anything for a transfer!

• I've got a sad update, only 1 out of 5 fertilized. DH and I feel devastated. At the moment I feel very strongly against day 3 transfer with one embryo, did check with RE if we can just freeze this one and he said to wait for tomorrow to make any decision as he thinks there is still a slim chance for another 2. I really fail to understand how we went from last time's 100% fertilization to 20% and hope we'll be wiser tomorrow.

• @IfYouCanDreamIt Ugh! Still if that one is good quality it could still be all you need! And I've had a couple catch up and be good quality for freezing even on day 6. If they think a couple more might have late fertilized that would be amazing.
