Weekend Randoms 12/9

What's everyone up to this weekend?!?

It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

It has been a long week! I'm going to finally meet my friend's baby today after work. She was a micropremie born at 23 weeks. She got home a few weeks ago and I haven't seen her yet. No plans yet Saturday since DH has a class to take, so probably finally getting cards out and labeling gift bags. Sunday DH and I are going Christmas shopping. I may test before we go if my package arrives.

  • @NYTino24 Wow, that's so great to hear the baby was able to come home!

This weekend we have my H's company Christmas party, so that will be fun! Then, depending on how much snow we get, we might go to my MIL's on Sunday. It will be a busy but fun weekend!

  • **Possible TW** Tomorrow I am visiting a good friend to spend some time with her during a rough patch. It's the anniversary of her fiancee's passing and she is really struggling this week. It breaks my heart to see her so sad.**End TW**

Other than that doing some work and finishing holiday shopping!

  • @Sailing_Mama love your weekend plans! I am from wayyyy upstate NY and snow is nothing to me, but when it snows where I live now everyone FREAKS out.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @jess0211 Right? It's hilarious. I think we got 2-3" of snow, and literally half my team didn't make it in to the office...
  • @Sailing_Mama same here! It snows and everything shuts down. DH and I actually drove all the way to work one day (we have an hour commute) when it snowed only to find out they closed work. It never even occurred to us to check!

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @Sailing_Mama @jess0211 Ha. I'm supposed to get 5-8 inches of snow this weekend.

  • I just got back from bowling with the fiancée. I'm going to catch up on sleep this weeken!

  • @sailing_mama; it's not their fault priuses weren't made to drive in snow lol

I realized my app has eaten up most of my post, does this happen to anyone else? grrrrrrr this is the third time this has happened to me
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @jpearl2307 Yeah, TB app likes to do that. Usually after you wrote a long well thought out post.

Got a holiday party tomorrow, but otherwise a low key weekend.

Tonight was a crazy evening of watching Lie To Me, cause we're super cool like that.

@jess0211 I hope this gets fixed soon! Until then I will try to use my computer

  • @jpearl2307, @ChefRamsay - my favorite is when I type everything out on mobile and then it tells me that I don't have permission to post.

  • @Tennis11785 I haven't had that happen to me, but that sounds horrible! I am thinking I may have to start copying my whole post on mobile before posting it :/
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @jpearl2307 @Tennis11785  I dunno why not, but it hasn't actually done that to me for a while now.   but it is definitely super annoying when it does!  I have copied to the memo ap on my phone before posting so it's not lost.
  • @ChefRamsay  shhhh... that's the secret ;)
  • @Sailing_Mama I feel somewhat the same about PNW snow (coming from Idaho) and I find the whole Seattle 'in snow, abandon car on hill and walk away' thing truly baffling, I will say that no one is equipped to deal with it. Why would you buy all-weather tires if you never need them? Why buy a snow shovel so you can use it once a year? And I still say, even if I'm not worried about me driving, I'm worried about every other dingbat who is terrible at driving in the snow. And..... Don't you understand?!?! She lives on a HILL!"  ;)

  • @adirat and @Saralee797 Well... there is milking it and using it as an excuse, and then there are the people who actually fall apart and can't function. It's just funny to see a whole city in a panic over a couple of inches of snow!
  • I went to the store yesterday to get my CD1 chocolate fix and I found a bag of "brownie cookies". Holy shit, they kind of taste like Count Chocula, and I am in fat kid heaven right now...

  • @antoto did you see arrival? It's getting great reviews but we haven't seen it yet. We saw Manchester by the sea last weekend. It was heartbreaking but such a good movie.

  • @BertieMeetsGertie YESSS!  I was way more impressed than I thought I would be.  It wasn't at all a run-of-the-mill alien movie.  It was somehow simultaneously heartbreaking and hopeful.  I highly recommend it :)  Manchester by the Sea looks fascinating - I'll have to check it out!
