R/R: Ever have a girls event (nails, lunch, whatever) with 2+ people and 2 of them decide to do something before and after and only tell you once you're there and already feel like a second wheel? Happened to me yesterday reminded me of my middle school days where any group of 3 was always 2 vs. 1. Oyyy. 

CS/Q: I had O pain yesterday (which could really be anything) and my third day of EWCM, and what was the darkest OPK I have ever had, but I noticed on my batch of internet cheapies, some of the control lines aren't as dark as others.. has anyone run into this? I'm going to take another today and see if it's undoubtedly positive, I've never even gotten this close to turning them before so I'm hoping I'm returning to normal after ditching Paraguard. Also was hoping to have a temp rise, but it's just moving slow and probably hasn't happened yet. Would be early for me anyway.... chart in signature if anyone wants to browse.

GTKY: How do you feel about parades? meh. I used to have to walk/cheer in them and didn't love them, now I just find the blocking of traffic annoying, but I will usually turn on the Thanksgiving Day Parade for some ambiance.

CS/Q: Baffled - I hate this batch of OPKs.  It looks positive again, but even the control line isn't glaringly dark. I have been saving them and taping them down to compare. My temps have been pretty high to start this month. DH has a 24 now, so let's hope it isn't early O because we will only have HIO once. I didn't really get EWCM last cycle, but I got some this am. 


GTKY: How do you feel about parades?

I don't really care. I watch the Macy's Thanksgiving parade for the lip synched musical performances and to see if the balloons get stuck. I don't like being in them. We have a Halloween one at school and we walk in a huge circle with the kids. Parents ambush us at the beginning for pics and then some follow us the whole way around. DH is often in them as a veteran or firefighter. I am looking forward to getting to Disney for the first time once Zika goes away so I can see their parades and I would like to go to a Yankees or Giants ticker tape parade.

@NYTino24 are you avoiding Disney World Orlando? I'm supposed to go in February, but wondered if I should put it off. I haven't heard of it being anywhere in the central FL area or locally transmitted outside of Miami, but I'm a worry wart and wouldn't want to risk it. Interested to hear what you think! WOOHOO on the EWCM!

@Flinstone Thanks for the T&P. We are staying away from any place tropical since we were already benched from our honeymoon. DH is going to one of his best friend's weddings in Mexico and I am not going due to Zika. Other Bumpies are saying Disney is safe since outbreak has been in Miami mostly, but you don't know until hindsight. I'd ask a doc if you are considering.

@Flinstone I live in Orlando and honestly I'm not too worried about it. I'll put on bug spray for softball games and maybe half the time I go running at night.  There aren't any cases here yet. And Disney has free bug repellent out at the parks & resorts for anyone to use.

R/R: I finally got my bloodwork done yesterday!  4th times a charm.   today is our first grade trip to Sea World. Field trip days always stress me out and this is the first time I've ever had one at a theme park.  I have 10 chaperones going so I won't have any kids to watch so I guess we'll just be wandering around all day. 

CS/Q: talk to me about using baby aspirin daily.  What does it do?  Any side effects or reason not to?  I'm going to take vitamin b complex along with pineapple core after O so is that ok with baby aspirin?

GTKY: How do you feel about parades? Love them!  I'm obsessed with all Disney parades. At our Disney wedding reception , we got announced using the song from Disneys Main Street Electrical Parade. And it's on my bucket list to one day see the Macy's Day Parade live

@Flinstone - that girls thing sounds so rude! I have a group of 4 friends, we've all known each other for 20+ years, and three of us are closer than the others. But sometimes, the other 4 will do something (planned by one of the two I'm not super close with) and I'll see it posted on facebook or something. It's been like that for our whole lives and it just hurts to be the only one left out of that.
@NYTino24 - Disney parade is a lot of fun! And YH a firefighter and veteran - first of all thank him, second of all Wow!

GTKY: How do you feel about parades? I love watching Macy's on TV, and we have a family tradition with my side to go to a big Father's Day parade by my grandma, and a 4th of July one by DH's grandma. So those ones I love, but those are the only ones I have strong feelings on. I usually enjoy them in general though!

CS/Q: This is my first month charting and I've been very inconsistent with my temping. I think I might have O'ed yesterday or maybe Sunday. I had a positive OPK yesterday, but I didn't do one Sunday since I wasn't feeling well. Any insights? 


GTKY: How do you feel about parades? I like watching them, but I tend to get bored if it's too long. We went to Disney World in May and those parades were great, but we usually watched some of it and then went and did something else. I don't mind watching them on tv since I can be doing other things while it's on.

@NYTino24 It's hard to say because your OPKs don't sound super reliable, so here's hoping it's a false surge until he gets home Sorry again to hear about your uncle. Also, you may have already thought about this, but men can also get Zika and transmit it back to you -- is your husband going to wear bug spray/take appropriate precautions at the wedding? 

@daisymae6215 With that number of open circles, it's impossible to tell, so I would keep HIO given you are still seeing fertile CM as of yesterday.

R/R: I'm feeling a little more optimistic than yesterday. And like I've said before, one nice thing about not being pregnant yet is being able to drink to get through my in-laws' Thanksgiving!

CS/Q: I don't have any EWCM yet, which is unusual for me. Hmm. 

GTKY: I never really had an opinion until I started my current job. Now I hate the Macy's parade with a passion because the route is partially near my office and they start setting up all the infrastructure and barricades Monday (meaning yesterday's walk to the office from the train was already nightmarish). It's like playing Frogger on the sidewalk of 34th Street. No thank you.

@Flinstone Ugh, that was really rude of them. I dealt with the same crap when I was younger too, so I understand how it feels. Sorry you had to deal with that. @NYTino24 The Disney Parade is really fun, I hope you get to see it soon!

R/R: I have officially reached the point of my cycle where I begin to obsess that I am somehow going to miss my O.

CS/Q: I know that I have read that this is normal, but should I be concerned that I have never gotten EWCM? I feel like I keep finding things that say some women just don't get it, but it is starting to make me kind of nervous, and I am just trying to figure out if that could be why we haven't been successful.

GTKY: How do you feel about parades? I was in band when I was younger, so I have had my fill of parades.

@nytino24 I'm sorry to read about your uncle - I'll be thinking about you. As for the OPKs, I've noticed that my control lines are darker when I'm actually O'ing... they're lighter when I'm not. HOWEVER, my test lines aren't ever as dark as my control lines either. Are you watching how fast the line shows up by any chance? When mine are positive, the test line comes up FAST.

@pinky917 Watery cm is also fertile. Also, it took me MONTHS to figure out how to actually find my cervix and "scoop" out the CM to determine what kind it was. So it could be that as well.

R/R:  1. Work stuff - UPS is really screwing up with a package I had sent via Next Day Air. It's now been over a week. GET IT TOGETHER UPS. 2. I put on a pair of pants I haven't worn since last winter and MAN THEY ARE TIGHT. You'd think an empty uterus would mean I'd weigh less.

CS/Q: Nope

GTKY: How do you feel about parades?

I usually turn the Thanksgiving Day parade on just because it puts me in the spirit. I LOVED parades for 4th of July when I was a kid. Like with so many things in life, they'll probably be more exciting with future children.

R/R:  Rant- Pediatrician confirmed DS more than likely is at the end of Hand,Foot and Mouth disease, hence the lack of wellness in our house for the past week.  It was apparently a very mild case, as far as having the rash and mouth ulcers, so that's good.  I still feel awful, but I'm at work because new job means not much in the way of sick hours built up.  Rave- It's a three day work week.  And I already missed yesterday, and will probably be kicked out once my boss sees me this morning.  So it will probably be a 1.5 day work week.

CS/Q:  Continuing from yesterday- I used Target pee stick OPKs, and had some doubts about their functionality, after not really seeing the lines darken to the point of the positive control line. Adding to my confusion is the fact that the OPK line isn't as thick as the + control, so it makes it a guessing game.  Last night, I updated my chart to say I had a positive on Sun/ yesterday, bc my OPK last night was definitively lighter than the ones I saw on Sunday evening and yesterday morning.  Do you ladies this is the appropriate move?  This is my first month with OPKs, I'll switch to Wondfos next month if I get a BFN.  Also, I had a big temp spike on CD14, more than likely due to getting the previously mentioned hand, foot, mouth from DS.  Should I discard the temp, or leave it?  I took it at the normal time after a decent amount of sleep.



GTKY: How do you feel about parades?  I can take them or leave them.  DH's family is pretty crazy about attending them, possibly bc FIL was a volunteer fire fighter and participated in them a lot when DH was young.  They can't make it through a major holiday without having the parades on tv.

@Pinky917 I don't think you need to worry if you haven't seen ewcm unless you see no CM changes whatsoever. Do you get watery? I've read watery is just as good for fertility.

@KhRun17 I had spotting before AF, so we are a day off. You got sick on your CD9, Friday, and I got sick on mine, Saturday.
@adirat @hartmich Usually my OPKs are reliable except for a false surge in September. I really think it's this batch. I do notice the real thing does come up blazingly positive pretty fast. DH is well-versed in Zika prevention and we are praying I am KU by April so it isn't an issue. We know all about Zika and sperm.

@adirat I do get watery, and I can definitely see a change throughout my cycle. I think I have just been seeing a lot of ewcm talk lately and was starting to get paranoid. I was never too worried about it, but I think I am just looking into anything that could be causing an issue.

R/R: We had moved home last winter for DH deployment so we let friends borrow our snowblower.  It snowed a lot yesterday and we don't have it back yet so we had to shovel.  Today my back is hurting so I think I overdid it. Oops! I think our friends are bringing the snowblower back today at least. 

CS/Q: none yet. Plan to start OPKs today.

GTKY: How do you feel about parades? I like to watch the Thanksgiving day parade on TV but I do not like watching parades in person.  They're always so crowded and the holiday parades are too cold.

R/R: OPK not quite positive yet. No EWCM this cycle but I have not been hydrating properly so I know it is my fault. My FF is messed up. It is giving me open circles for my normal temp time and  no green light even though I am in my fertile window. Maybe because I didn't temp the whole time? I am going to play with it today.

CS/Q: 

GTKY: How do you feel about parades? We used to go every year with my Dad. It was to get us kids out of the house so my mom could cook all day in peace. I used to hate waking up so early! Now, I miss it and hope to go with my kids. I also used to go to the 4th of July parade with just my Dad and that is one of my favorite memories - laying on a blanket with a popsicle watching the fireworks! 

@Pinky917 I don't always get EWCM but I have used preseed when that happens.

CS/Q: I think I O'd yesterday with a slow rise, but my temp was up this morning though I had another +OPK this morning. My body did that last cycle 4 days of +OPK with O on the 3rd day

GTKY: How do you feel about parades? I don't mind them... though I'm not sure what I think of the trend to add all of these play acts....  I enjoy local parades and supporting the community.

@purplg8r hooray for finally getting your blood work done!  baby asprin is to decrease the risk of developing blood clots and having one go to the placenta.  I was on under the direction of my RE but I am heterozygous for Factor V leiden so am at increased risk of developing clots during pregnancy. I guess I would only start it under the direction of a doctor.

@Flinstone we personally put of a trip to WDW in February.  I feel like anytime I've been to Disney mosquitoes have never seemed like an issue, but I don't think the climate is much different from Miami, and I worry that it could spread before the time for the trip comes up.  We're planning to go to Sesame Place in PA in May as soon as the park opens for the season instead.

Pinky917 I haven't gotten EWCM in a while, but this month I am drinking TONS of water, and having a cup of green tea and it's helping or it's coincidence. It definitely is normal not to have it, to have it in varying amounts each month, etc. 
@ColoradoHiker I would leave the temp and make a note. one time when I omitted a wonky temp, I got CH and got my hopes up, stopped HIO and then my temp dropped and I never actually O'd at all. Just to be safe, keep it in.
@wabash15 maybe O will be today for me. Hoping you O'd too. 
@hartmich I wouldn't be surprised if it changed off of Christmas day. I get wonky O's around the holidays

@adirat - GL with the in-laws. That is the one blessing of living where we do and DH's job...we don't have to deal with them for holidays. (we're having a friendsgiving instead).
@Pinky917 - I don't really get EW either... I get watery/creamy and that's the closest I get. I'll be looking for any answers you get too.

@ColoradoHiker - I don't turn CB very much. So I've been doing Wondfo's (I will only do them once I'm out of CB! Wondfo's are great!) and CB both by dipping in a cup, instead of directly on the stick. I've noticed when I use the dip-stick method the CB don't turn very well for me. 
@hartmich - that next CD1 prediction is the WORST!

@mrsegan13 I did have my thyroid checked in May and it was normal. I don't think I'm using the greatest thermometer either. I need to get a better one for next month.

I'm going to continue to HIO (I just explained this acronym to DH and he thought it was hilarious) for a few more days just in case.

WAYDTGKU: PNV + Vit D, sex EODish, temping, charting, blood work next week to confirm O

R/R: I had an ultrasound yesterday which showed a 17mm follicle on my right ovary. So I should O any day. I had a nice temp drop so I'm hoping tomorrow there's a pretty spike and O is today. The ultrasound showed that everything looks great which is good... but frustrated. Also, my OB wants a year of documented/confirmed ovulation before she'll move forward with testing. We are on cycle 15 but only cycle 10 of temping. H intervened at one point and said he was sure I didn't start temping until May. So then there was talk of waiting until May 2017 before move forward. At that point I checked out mentally. H admitted he was wrong about the timeline after we left but still didn't understand why I was upset and said he didn't want to continue with testing anyway. I'm still trying to process it all. 

CS/Q: nope

GTKY: How do you feel about parades? Meh. They're fun but I'm not super excited about them.

OMG my work internet was down for most of the morning. Just catching up now!

 

@Flinstone FWIW temping is statistically only about 30% accurate in predicting/identifying O, and OPKs are nearly 100% accurate. So, if it were me, I'd believe your OPKs over your BBT (although it looks like your temp is rising and you may get CH soon). And maybe google your brand of OPKs to see if there are many reports of them being faulty, just to be safe.

@Pinky917 Yeah... I think I've convinced myself of about 8 different O scenarios. I firmly believe that BSC SS applies to WTO too. And, I've only observed EWCM once while TTC. How many times per day are you checking?

Oh, and if anyone is looking for an affordable soy-free lip balm (and mourning Burt's Bees like me), try Cocokind. I got some at a local natural foods store and I LOVE it. It has some bees wax in it, so it has the nice coating effect like Burt's.

CS/Q: Can a period be too short? Mine are pretty short and I'm wondering if I should bring that up the next time I see my doctor.

@linzrunz hugs. I am so sorry that yesterday's appointment did not go well. That is super frustrating that your OB is sticking hard and fast to the 1 year line and that DH made it seem like you have not been confirming O for as long as you have. It really sucks that your not on the same page about pursuing testing. Do you think he's afraid it might be him or he thinks it will just happen magically since you already have kids?  It is so much to process, I hope you can get on the same page.

Not sure if you all remember me talking abouthow in sync our cycles had been lately and we ovulated on the same day and all, well shes KU again in her 1/1AL. END TW**I am happy for her because she is such a great person, but after I hung up I cried for myself in the car on the way to work. Been in a funk all day about it. I just feel like since we couldn't have that appointment with the endo that everything is hopeless now. I know everyone here wanted the holiday baby announcement and mine was going to be xmas since my whole family will be together. I am so doubtful it will happen now. New appointment Jan 6.

GTKY: How do you feel about parades? I don't mind them, but wouldn't go out of my way to go to one.
