Re: **TTCAL 11/7 Check-in**

  • 1.) Introduce yourself (if you're new) Not new, but sadly there are a lot of new faces. I'm Renae and I just had my third miscarriage (see siggy for specifics).

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc) TWW - 10 or 11 DPO

    3.) Rants/ Raves
Rant - Well, I tested this morning with a First Response (the 6 days before a period test) and got a BFN. I am super disappointed and trying to hold it together. I keep telling myself that now I can enjoy a glass of wine on Thanksgiving and I have another month to make healthier changes in my life. It doesn't really help, but it is what it is.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?
I am a crazy shopper. I love Black Friday shopping. I spend hours on Thanksgiving looking at the ads, deciding what I want to buy, and mapping out what time the store opens and which store I want to hit first. I enjoy it, but I am not a lunatic, if I don't get what I want, I don't get upset by it.

1.) Introduce yourself (if you're new)

Been here a bit. MC while TTC#2 this summer.

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc)
TWW holding out until at least tomorrow morning to test. Not sure I want to see a BFN, so perhaps holding out for AF. Not sure which is worse, a BFN in the privacy of my home or the potential of AF at work. Mostly proud I got through the weekend without testing!!

    3.) Rants/ Raves
Raves: Fun weekend with family doing lots of fun things and getting a few old items on my to do list crossed off.
Rants: This election better be decided tomorrow....I just can't take it anymore!!

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?
Not sure yet. We usually do something non-shopping related with family. Perhaps a Christmas parade and whatever is going on in the town we visit. I would rather do just about anything than black friday shop. Driving past a shopping area is more than I need to see to confirm that kind of shopping is not for me!!

@newmommycoop sorry about the BFN :( Good for you to see the positive!!

  • @newmommycoop sorry for the bfn.

@flipflopped GL and FX for you tomorrow!

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc) 5 DPO- just had my last piece of pineapple core this morning before breakfast bc even if I look crazy for eating it, it can't hurt, right? :)

    3.) Rants/ Raves
Rave: we finally put all out deck/patio furniture away this weekend so now I feel set for winter, even though I don't want winter to come. Can't we just skip it and go right to spring??

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?
No plans for Black Friday shopping. I went to the outlets by me once to do some shopping and never again. No sale is worth that amount of crazy.
  • @szwill86 If it doesn't hurt why not!! Maybe it does nothing, maybe it does something. Even if that something is help keep the BSC in check....that is a win. Hope the TWW flies by for you and you get that BFP!!
  • 2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc) TWW, 10dpo but just found out I have low progesterone, so really just waiting for my period.

    3.) Rants/ Raves

Low progesterone! Great. I've been begging for help since June and now that I have the results back my obgyn can't see me until the middle of December. I am totally stuck and totally, completely gutted and miserable. I have a luteal phase that is about 14 days long, sometimes as long as 16 days and still my progesterone is low af. I swear my period gets stuck up in there and that's what causes so many days of intense cramping. So not only did I lose my baby, it seems I lost my fertility along with her.

I'm starting acupuncture as soon as I can get an appointment and I'll pay for that shit out of pocket because I can't just sit the next two cycles out because my obgyn is too busy.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?

Black Friday is thankfully not a thing in Canada. I mean, the consumerist sector has kind of pushed for it in the past few years here, but it'll never catch on. Plus we already have a solid tradition of Boxing Day sales and our Thanksgiving is in October and not really a big holiday. I wouldn't go to the mall on a regular day, so I would not participate regardless.

@szwill86 i forgot pineapple core again this cycle ugh, i suck. good luck!
@flipflopped I am so with you on this election. I can't take it anymore.
@reneeannemm so sorry about the low progesterone and the long luteal phase, that only feels like dragging out the inevitable. hugs <3

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc) TWW 8DPO and itching to test. I don't even know how I feel about this cycle, I had delayed ovulation so part of me hopes that I'm not pregnant because I'll be so paranoid it was a bad egg but of course I do hope to be pregnant so basically I'm a mess. I'm a super early tester but I'm trying to just be calm and wait until I trust the result.

3.) Rants/ Raves My rave is that I'm switching to my husband's insurance and it'll save us a ton of money and be much better coverage. I'm meeting and RE next week so I might be looking at a lot more medical bills so this change comes at a perfect time.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds? I hate crowds and have never participated in black friday, I'm a cyber monday shopper :)

    @flipflopped  GL with testing tomorrow

@szwill86  I also ate pineapple last time it worked. I will eat it again this time even if its for placebo effect.  :)

@reneeannemm Sorry about the progesterone results. GL with acupuncture. I have read wonderful things about it.

1.) Introduce yourself (if you're new) Joined this community about a month and a half ago. More details in signature

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc) WTO CD 10 for me today and I started OPKs yesterday. Hoping for O to come Friday/Saturday and happy that I will have some more time to BD since it's weekend and I work from home on Fridays

3.) Rants/ Raves My neighbor is pregnant and yesterday while taking the trash out there were all these empty boxes of baby gear. Happy for her, but made me really sad thinking that could have been me. Before TTC little things like that didn't matter, but now I see it everywhere. Thankful that I work in a male dominated industry, so the chances of having having a PG co-worker are almost non-existent. (that being said, one of the few women is out on maternity leave  :/ )

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?
My mother in law will be visiting from abroad  so, we will just stay home. No crazy shopping for me this year.

  • @NewMommyCoop I'm sorry about the BFN.  Sucks so bad every single time.
@reneeannemm I'm glad you found out about the progesterone but that's dumb that they can't see you earlier.  Can you switch providers?
@szwill86 When are you planning on testing??

1.) Introduce yourself (if you're new)
Not new, but I'll intro anyway for the new faces... MMC July 2016, D&C July 22 at 8 weeks.  It was a surprise and we weren't trying, so I thought it would be easy to get KU again.  TTC ever since but no success.

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc)
TWW - 7DPO.  BFN last night and this morning.  I didn't get a BFP on my last one til 11DPO but I also wasn't scrutinizing the tests the way I am now -- holding them up to the light, taking pictures with my phone and editing the contrast, the BSC works.  My boobs are a little tender and my gums bled yesterday morning but I'm fairly certain it's all psychosomatic and I'm just insane.

    3.) Rants/ Raves
Rant - I keep trying to talk to my best friend about how much I struggle during the TWW and she keeps telling me that I need to "relax and stop trying so hard" because everyone knows that that's when you get pregnant.  She's never been KU and she isn't trying.  She has no idea.  How the f*** am I supposed to relax?????  And hearing that from her makes me so angry because it feels like I am doing something wrong when I am trying SO DESPERATELY to do everything right.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?
I hate crowds and I hate shopping unless it's online.  I will be moping around all day feeling sorry for myself instead.

  • @flipflopped FX for you! Hoping to see great news for you tomorrow!

    @szwill86 Definitely can't hurt.

@reneeannemm Sorry about the progesterone results. Hopefully the acupuncture will help.  It is a good thing for Canada. I refuse to go on Thanksgiving day. I will not go until early Friday morning. There is nothing I need that bad and I don't like that employees have to go to work on a day they should be spending with family. Most of the stuff I want to buy for gifts is still available on Friday morning, so it works for me and most of the real crazies are already home and in bed.

@brooklyngirl18 I am with you on the itching test. I tested on Saturday too and of course got a BFN. I wasn't too disappointed because it was so early, but today... That's great about the insurance. Hopefully it will cover at least a portion of the RE visits and tests.

@endo_mom FX for BD this weekend!

@migdala FX it is not psychosomatic. Sorry about your friend. When you haven't been in the situation, it is easy to think that it just happens easily. Hopefully she never has to know any differently.

@NewMommyCoop Sorry for the BFN. FX it's just too early!

@flipflopped I'm impressed with your will power. I've never been able to hold out past 9DPO.

@reneeannemm That sucks that you have to wait so long to see your OB. I'm hopeful though that fixing your progesterone will be the easy fix that helps you get your rainbow. Could you call your OB and see if she'd prescribe supplements to try the next two cycles before you see her?

@brooklyngirl18 Yay for better insurance! I find it appalling that insurance in the US isn't required to cover fertility visits, yet drugs like viagra are covered. It adds insult to injury. I could rant a long time about this...lol. But I'm glad you are going to get better coverage before your RE visit!

@migdala You totally aren't out yet this cycle. 6 or 7 DPO really is too early to test, so a BFN means nothing. Symptoms like bleeding gums and sore boobs won't tell you anything either unfortunately. FX you get a BFP in a few days! Also, people who say "just relax" to women struggling to TTC deserve a throat punch. How rude.

    AFM:

    1. Not new. MC #1 Dec 2015. MC#2 April 2016.

    2. Benched, but hopefully not much longer! CD1 should be here this week, and we have our RE appointment next week. Unless she is really discouraging about our chances, we'll plan to try naturally again, and hopefully have a plan in place in case we have trouble TTC or I have another loss.

    3. Rant: I had a 3 hour conference call scheduled at 8AM because I work with people in time zones farther east. I woke up super early to take care of our puppy and get out the door so I could be ready for the call. And then it got cancelled at the last minute. Now I'm super tired and grumpy.

Rave: it was a productive weekend, where I got a lot of little chores and things off my plate, and still had some time to relax. I felt on top of life for the first time in a long time... Lol.

    4. Hell no to Black Friday Shopping. I'd rather be forced to watch paint dry at home than go anywhere near a mall on Black Friday. Crowds, noise, and pushy people drive me crazy. But who are we kidding? It's really Black Thursday now. I hate that comercialism and greed are stealing time from a holiday that is supposed to be about family, and being thankful for what we already have. Also, all those hourly workers deserve time with their families on Thanksgiving much more than I want or need a big screen TV. When I do start my Christmas shopping, I try to shop first at stores that actively choose to stay closed on Thanksgiving. I guess I could have added that to my rant section above....
  • @NewMommyCoop - sorry for the BFN. That sucks always.

@flipflopped - I agree, this election can't end soon enough. It is causing me sooo much stress. I'm even worried about backlash when it's over. I just want peace...is that so hard?!

@szwill86 - I've never tried the whole pineapple core thing. Is it hard to eat?

@reneeannemm - I'm sorry about your low progesterone. Can you see another provider (I'm not sure how that all works in Canada)? I think you used to temp right? If so, did you experience low literal phase temps? I'm wondering if I have low progesterone too. I've never had it tested.

@brooklyngirl18 - I'm a cyber Monday shopper too. You couldn't pay me to fight those crowds! I'm so thankful for Amazon prime!

@endo_mom - I'm sorry about dealing with seeing all of your PG neighbors stuff. I think the new girl at work is KU and I'm dreading the possible announcement every day.

@migdala - I absolutely hate it when people who have never had fertility issues tell me to just relax. It send me through the roof. My mom has said that numerous times despite me telling her off for it. It is just so dismissive and rude. As if putting more blame on you will help.

1.) Introduce yourself (if you're new)
Not new. MMC in February. Now on cycle 8 TTCAL.

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc)
    WTO - I'm 4 DPO

    3.) Rants/ Raves
Rant - I still haven't heard from my OB's office regarding my HSG results. They did tell me that my tubes were clear which was the big thing - but also that I have a retroverted uterus and it is way to the left. I even asked about this after my MMC and everyone told me that I didn't have a retroverted uterus. So now I'm wondering if it's happened since my D&C? I've had sever low back pain ever since and I'm wondering if that's why.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?

i will not be Black Friday shopping! I am way too short for that and would get trampled in a heart beat. Lol. I try to get most of my shopping done before thanksgiving so I don't have to stress about it and can focus on baking and watching Christmas movies. I hate large crowds and almost always buy everything from Amazon all the time. I have been really disappointed with their Black Friday sales the last couple of years though.

@NewMommyCoop   I'm sorry for you BFN this cycle.  Lots of positive vibes and baby dust coming your way from me for your next cycle!  FX!

@szwill86  I just started eating pineapple core today too!  It's not great, in my opinion but any helpful things are worth it to me!  I also started a fertility yoga video I found on Youtube (of all places).  It nothing else it helps me get my stress under control and feel calm and "fertile".

@MooFish2364  FX for your results and hoping the doctors give you answers soon. I know that sometimes just having an answer and having a plan you can focus on can be huge.  I'll keep FX and positive vibes coming your way!

@RiverSong15  FX for this upcoming cycle for you.  I'm sorry you had to wake up super early for nothing.  I hate days like that.  I woke up early this morning to get ready (picture day at work).  When I got here they had cancelled the photos.  Oh well.  At least you had a productive weekend it sounds like!  Mine was spent on the couch feeling like crap.  My Metformin is still doing me in even a month later.

@migdala PREACH!  After my loss I have heard nothing but "oh it'll happen"  "You're still young" "You have all the time in the world" "you just have to stop trying so hard".   It's hard not to slap a bitch.

@endo_mom  That's good that you work with a lot of men so that is less likely. I work with all women. However I don't think any of them are planning a baby any time soon.

    **TW loss mentioned**

1.) Introduce yourself (if you're new):
It's my first month TTC technically so I'm still kind of new to the group.  My DH and I are try for the first time and we are really excited! I had a rough go of it during my first marriage, but things already look so much better this time around.

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc)
Officially in the TWW!  1DPO today!

    3.) Rants/ Raves
Rant- Two weeks is so long.  I know everyone feels this.  I haven't TTC in a long time so it's new and aggravating again! Ha ha.

Raves- I just finished up my first month of new meds (Metformin, aspirin regiment for APLS, and wellbutrin) and I'm doing ok!  I'm down 15lbs and the nausea seems to be stabilizing.  Also, I'm officially cigarette free for 5 weeks today.  I know that its terrible that I smoked in the first place, but it was a bad habit and it got bad after DD passed away.  But I'm proud of myself for doing so well this time around!  I gave it up and I know this time it's for good.  My body already feels so much better.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?

Black Friday is a pajama day for me!  Well, this year it will be spent traveling since we have so many family gatherings for Thanksgiving, but normally it's a pajama day on the couch so we don't have to deal with people.  I will check to see if there is anything I can't live without but I doubt there will be anything this year.

  • @sparrowmomma24 Congrats on O and quitting smoking! I grew up in a family of smokers, so I've seen how addicting they are and how hard it is to quit. Good for you for making it 5 weeks cigarette free!!!
  • @riversong15 Thanks!! It hasn't been easy, but staying busy helps. I'm with you on feeling on top of life. I'm not quite there, but close enough not to be overwhelmed.

@moofish2364 Peace?!?! I'm not that optimistic :( I just want to not have the backlash. I used to joke I want to make it to Christmas, but now I'm not sure how much that is for real wishing. Such a sad state of being now.

@sparrowmomma24 5 weeks is huge!! Hopefully a BFP for you to help you keep smoke free. You don't want a womb full of smoke. Ok...so that isn't real, but it that picture helps use it!!

I'm so happy to see may are anti-black friday. I can't imagine having to stop Thanksgiving to go to work so people can get deals. I'm all for a deal, but at the expense of happiness it is never worth the savings in my book.

  • @brooklyngirl46  I'm trying to set DH and I's insurance up this week and it's a pain.  They cancelled my old plan and gave me less.  I now only qualify for paying 30% after deductible.  They raised my deductible from $5000 to $10000 and my premium went up by $265!  So I'm not a happy peach.  Hopefully by combining DH and I, it will end up cheaper.  We shall see!  I hate insurance.

@flipflopped @RiverSong15 Thanks you all for the encouragement on my smoke-free journey.  Honestly, finding out about my anti phospholipid antibody syndrome clinched it for me.  (My antibodies attack healthy cells and membranes causing miscarriage, still birth, and bad blood clots/stroke/etc).  So the thought of making that any worse by smoking just shocked me!  I've been a smoker for ten years so I can't believe I've been as blessed as I have already.

    4. Not really a Black Friday shopper - usually do Cyber Monday deals or go out to a store on Sat or Sun if there is a good deal. I don't really have tons of Christmas shopping to do so it's not really worth it for me.

@flipflopped - gl testing tmrw and i don't know what I will do if election is not settled tmrw either. Ugh!
@endo_mom - I'm sorry about the neighbor - it's so crazy how pg people are everywhere now and things that I would not have noticed or been bothered by before now upset me out of nowhere.

@brooklyngirl18 - gl with the RE and glad you are going to have better insurance too that is huge with all of this.

@reneeannemm- I'm sorry about the progestrone.

@migdala - a friend told me the other day that it will happen when you least expect it - it's like I've been trying for nearly 2 years with 2 losses - I don't think I'm going to get unexpectedly pg. I know it's prob meant to be comforting but it's not to me.

@NewMommyCoop Sorry about the BFN :(

    @flipflopped Fx for you!

@szwill86 @brooklyngirl18 @endo_mom So...what is supposed to be the timing for this pineapple core business?  DH cut up some pineapple for us when we were in Hawaii last weekend and I was intentionally avoiding the core bits because I'm not used to eating it :p

@reneeannemm I am sorry about low progesterone, but maybe at least they know what they can try to do about it?  I've never had any testing (or even had betas done) and I feel quite in the dark. Sucks that you have to wait so long to see ob.  Maybe ask if the acupuncturist has a cash price?  My acu/chiro did, but unfortunately she left town and I haven't found another yet.

@RiverSong15 Welcome back to the madness!

@sparrowmomma24 Good for you being smoke-free!  You're doing such a good thing for yourself!  I agree insurance does suck.  My company is discontinuing my plan for next year so I'll be picking a new one come open enrollment.

3.) Rants/ Raves  Feeling really over reading labels to try to tell what (cleaning products, laundry detergent, skin and hair care product) is "safe." Ewg is great, but I spent a significant amount of time cross-referencing with that and other websites and product labels this past weekend.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?  I'll only be participating online.  I actually need to do some research on things because we are moving next month and will be in the market for some things (TV, sound bar, furniture, nest, Skybell, etc.) and need to nail down exactly what we want so I can keep an eye out for deals.

@sparrowmomma24 great minds!  :) I might swap out my flexibility YouTube yoga this TWW for the fertile yoga one. What's the name??

@moofish2364 it's not that unpleasant if you prime yourself by saying "it's not supposed to taste like pineapple" haha

@artemis618 the pineapple core had bromelian in it which is supposed to help with implantation. "Legend" is to take a whole pineapple, skin it, cut as much of the meat (aka the good part) off of it as possible then cut it into 5 sections and eat one room temp portion on an empty stomach on 1-5dpo (or 2-6 if you forget). But nothing after that as it can cause uterine contractions. Again, no research, just a lot of hearsay on it helping women get BFPs.  I just keep the portions in a Tupperware in the fridge and take one out each morning when I first wake up then finish getting ready so it can get to room temperature before eating. This is my second cycle doing it so I have nothing to report from it...yet!
  • 2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc) WTO CD-what-seems-like-1000 (aka 28).

3.) Rants/ Raves Not sure I'm even going to O this month.  I had like six days of blinking smileys and no true positive wondfo (closest yesterday morning). I ran out of CBAD tests so just relying on wondfo today and it's lighter today.  Temp raised a smidgen today, so it's possible O was yesterday or it's possible it's just never going to happen.  Feeling defeated (unnecessarily) today.  I really don't want to HIO anymore, ha.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?  We have a family Thanksgiving on Friday this year, so probably no shopping. I sometimes go with my sister on Friday...but only at like 10:00 am - none of this midnight or 4 am business.  We're rarely shopping for the hot items, so I can usually get the deal without the crowd by the time we go.  Mostly though, I'm a big fan of cyber Monday.

@szwill86 I didn't know it was supposed to be room temperature pineapple core - good to know!

Still pretty new. I'm 30, lost first baby at 11 weeks in June. I was almost to 2nd trimester so we made the mistake of telling EVERYONE.. won't make that mistake again!

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc)
3dpo (I think). I only did my OPK. Have been temping kinda but have had trouble being consistent with the times, so didn't really confirm ovulation.

Cannot wait until this election is OVER!

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?
I'm not really into Black Friday, but I am going this year with my mom and aunt. We're going to drive down to Portland (no sales tax). Mostly just to hang out with them. And we definitely are not waking up early.

  • @reneeannemm I'm quite sure I have a progesterone issue, as well.  It was low at 12 DPO when I did my first beta following BFP last month (something like 8.6).  So frustrating that you can't get in until December!  I also want to try acupuncture, if even for the relaxation aspect.  I have my first RE appointment on 12/15 and they also offer acupuncture, so I plan on checking that out, too!

@RiverSong15 GL with the RE appointment! I hate when conference calls get canceled - especially if you had to get up early specifically for it.  I had to be in the office for one a couple weeks back, drove the hour there, and of course it got canceled.  I so could've been working from home in pajamas otherwise!

@sparrowmomma24 Congrats on stopping smoking!  I echo everyone else - insurance sucks.  I have coverage through my husband because work doesn't offer any and I make too much for any subsidies through the ACA.  Luckily, he has pretty good insurance coverage, but it's pricey.  And doesn't cover anything RE-related.

  • @szwill86 Never heard of having the pineapple core warm up to room temperature and eating it on an empty stomach.  Will need to give it a try!  I just ate the core a little at a time a few days PO no idea which days last time and I got KU.  It was also my first cycle temping, OPKing and using preseed.  Who knows.

@sparrowmomma24  Smoke free for 5 weeks?  Woo hoo.  Rooting for you!

    @NewMommyCoop and @TScalie  BFNs just stink.  : (

@endo_mom  I definitely hear you about preg ladies being everywhere.  I just got to my second job, I think the lady in the next office is preg.  Just a saw a pretty prominent bump

    .) Introduce yourself (if you're new)  TTC1 - MMC 10/20

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc) Benched until levels zero out. Blood work tomorrow.  Fx for 0!!

    3.) Rants/ Raves
Rants - Just that it seems that everyone is pregnant.  On down days I feel like it'll never happen for us. Also seems like everything is a process.  First you have to wait til HCG levels are 0 and then AF.  Guess I'm a little impatient.  I want to move on but my body is holding me back.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds?  I am definitely a stay at home and avoid the crowds type.  I really do not have an extensive list of people to shop for and I do not need much myself.  I do not think it is worth going into the crazy crowds.  It's become a sport.

  • @szwill86 Ahhhh, that makes sense.  I always forget about the "warm body/warm foods" aspect.  Totally NOT BSC!

  • @laeberge3  My office doesn't provide insurance either.  And DH just got a new job and his doesn't either.  We don't qualify for any subsidies and so I'm trying to shop around as much as I can.  FX that I can find something affordable!    I have to ask what this "warm body/warm foods" thing is.  I have no idea what you girls are talking about.

@SP128  I feel you there!  There have been 4 pregnancy announcements on my facebook in the last week alone.  It's making me even more antsy and more on edge.  That's why I started back into my fertility yoga.  It gets me back to a centered and less stressed space which will hopefully help with implantation for me.

@flipflopped Way to go on not testing.  I don't think I could make it to AF without a test.

@szwill86 I hear ya about the cold weather.  If it was up to me I would move to someplace warm all year so I could grill every night and hang out in the sun.

@reneeannemm Ugh, sorry hear about the low progesterone. Even more sorry to hear about the long wait.  Double sucks.

@brooklyngirl18 Good luck on the holding out to test. FX for you.  I am a cyber monday shopper too.  *well any day cyber shopper, to be honest.

@endo_mom Sorry about pregnant trash neighbor.  I keep getting baby stuff in my amazon feed. The worst!  Good luck with the O for the weekend.

@RiverSong15 FX for great news at your apt.  My puppy has been on a 5am schedule for the past 2 months. I'm over it, and it's only going to get worse when it starts getting colder.

  • @justsuzie Someone just reminded me about the holiday and it turned my Monday around!! I read something about a super moon this Friday...really bright.
  • @NewMommyCoop sorry for BFN :-(
@reneeannemm that sucks about the wait! I had to wait 2 months to see my endocrine but was able to prescribe myself meds until then (otherwise would have had to go to ER). That totally blows.
@sparrowmomma24 congrats on quitting smoking! Go you!

    1. I think most of you know me :-). 3rd-ish cycle after being benched for 7 months due to Graves' arising from my MC. TTCAL is my home, and y'all are my family :-)

    2. WTO CD12. Planning to start HIO EOD either today or tomorrow.

    3. RAVE: I worked in South Carolina this weekend. I got into Chicago early this morning and instead of waiting 3+ hours I got put on an earlier flight to Portland with no issues (and I'm not even a high, important person on United). Yay!! It's 1pm and I'm home! Of course, I did wake up at 1am so I'll see how long I last, hee hee

    4. GTKY: I worked in retail through high school and college and *hate* shopping in general, so I would rather cut out an eyeball than go shopping on that day. But to all of you that do--I am in awe, that's dedication! My family don't really do gifts-529 contributions for my nieces and nephew, DH and I go see The Nutcracker together, and I'm flying the day after Thanksgiving to TX to help my mom move back to NY.

  • @moonlady  I'm an art teacher for k-4. Ugh, this is going to be a long week even though it's only 3 days with kids.
  • Hi Ladies,
I'm playing catchup on mobile and can't really tag everyone. I've been MIA for a week or so just trying to wrap my head around passing the three year mark in October. Three years...what?!?

    1) Twin MC in May 2015. Secondary infertility, started TTC 10/2013.

    2)CD10, WTO

3)Rave - had my first RE appt today and just feel relieved to have a plan in place. HSG/blood work to start, 2 natural cycles to get through the holidays, monitored cycles for a few months and then skipping IUI to go to IVF in summer of 2017 if we're still trying at that point.
Rave #2 - 10 girls from my old bball team came over yesterday and we had team thanksgiving (also called practice thanksgiving so I could practice all my thanksgiving recipes before I host DHs family for the first time this year)

    4) My first real job after college was a manager at Target so I despised Black Friday. 2 years ago I went out with DH for the for the first time and I really liked it. We went out at 4am so we missed the midnight rush and the casual day shoppers weren't out yet so we had the stores to ourselves. No crowds, no lines, just deals and lots of Christmas presents (big families = dozens of gifts to be bought)!
    DH - 34, Me - 32
    Married 7/13
    TTC #1 since 10/13
BFP 2/4/15, MC twin boys at 18w3d 5/15
    IUI #1 2/25/16

  • Hello All,

I'm new to the group. I was in the Feb2017 birth club.  We lost our Cora Marie at 22w1d two weeks ago. We went in for a routine ultrasound and found out her heart stopped beating :'( . I'm 33 and DH is 40, we've been married 4 years,  and this was our first pregnancy.

Status: waiting on anwsers from autopsy and pathology so we know how long we have to wait to TTC.

Rave: I've taken a few weeks off from work and it feels good to get caught up on some fall cleaning projects and watching lots of good movies.

Not looking forward to the holidays this year, but I may check out some of the on-line black friday deals.  For some reason I always end up shopping for stuff we need around the house and ourselves on Black Friday  :s

  • @soontobemommahowe - I'm sorry for the 3 year mark. How did the practice Thanksgiving go?
@alemarie1 - I'm so sorry for your loss and to see you here.
  • @brooklyngirl18 Good news for the new health insurance. Especially with the RE testing this can mean a lot of savings!

@migdala The cycle I was PG I was over analyzing everything, I actually told DH I was KU before my HPT at around 6 DPO. I just felt so different. I also hate when people that haven't been through a loss tell you to relax. It is just not possible!

@RiverSong15 I hope your RE appointment goes well and that you get to try naturally. I know how you feel regarding the cancelled meeting. I am not a morning person and when I wake up really early I'm really grumpy and I am exhausted the whole day. I hope you had a good day despite that.

@MooFish2364 FX for the TWW and I hope you get some answers on the retroverted uterus dilemma

@sparrowmomma24 congrats on moving to TWW. Now its only half the wait. and congrats on the 5 weeks on your smoke free journey. My dad used to smoke when we were little and he was able to leave it permanently, one step at a time. Celebrate every accomplishment

@TScalei Hope you recover soon and FX for some good news

@artemis618 Fell free to share some "safe" products you find. I am not reading the labels more carefully after reading ISWTE

@laeberge3 I hope you get to O soon. If you dont get any clear O signs dont get stressed. The more practice, the better  ;)

@SP128 FX for 0 HCG soon. Might be the AF shows up if HCG is not too high.

@justsuzie I hope you get a big HCG drop next time. You are almost there!

@aamberruka I am 2 days behind you cycle-wise. GL BD this month!

@SoonToBeMommaHowe You are my cycle twin CD 10 over here. I hope you can get some answers from the RE. In the meantime, FX for good timing.

@alemarie1 very sorry for your loss. I hope the pathology testing gives you the answers you are looking for.

  • @sparrowmomma24 "Warm/body foods" may refer to eating warm foods after ovulation.  I read somewhere that warm foods like soups and stews makes it an easier environment for an egg to implant.  I also read to avoid things like salads and ice cream since it makes for a chilly environment.

I read about it and did it the month I was KU.  I also did a few other things the month I got KU so who knows?

  • I need your opinion ladies:  I don't remember who, but I read on these posts that some of you have read "It All Starts with the Egg."  I looked it up on Amazon and have not bought it yet.  It was going to be an impulse buy over the weekend but did not want to pay shipping for it.  I'm going to look to see if Barnes and Noble has it in stock.

My question is is this book worth reading?  Will I go crazier than I already am?
Any other books you ladies would recommend?  I already have TCOYF.  I read most of it and found it helpful as I started temping that month.  I'm going to have to re-read some parts of it.

  • 1.) Introduce yourself (if you're new): New here...I know none of us really want to be in this club but I really really enjoy having people who understand my struggle that I can chat with...so thanks for being here!

I miscarried at just shy of 8 weeks with my 1st pregnancy and am still dealing with the aftermath of that.

2.) Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc): Good question...not sure at the moment. Benched for now. Just found out yesterday that this was a partial molar pregnancy and they want us to wait up to a year before trying again. Going tomorrow to get a second opinion on if that wait is really necessary. Read some research online that it may be just a 3 month wait instead.

3.) Rants/ Raves: It suddenly feels like everyone is pregnant and every tv show I watch has pregnant people and that makes me really sad.

4.) GTKY - What are your Black Friday plans? Are you a crazy shopper or do you stay home and avoid the crowds? I actually am a horse trainer and riding instructor and we are having a Black Friday horse camp so I will be teaching which will keep me good and busy!

  • @SP128  I just finished ISWTE this weekend and I have mixed reviews about it. I felt it was a little focused on IVF, but had some good tips for improving egg quality and all the studies that backup those claims. It mentioned things to avoid such as BPA exposure and other things that might impact egg quality. It made me a little more paranoid, but then I thought that taking everything so literal would mean there would almost be no babies in the world :) I think TCOYF is better.
