I had a transvaginally ultrasound today and everything measured perfectly with lmp. the ultrasound tech said she was unable to measure baby's hb although we could see hb pumping away. is this normal? I have history of mc with no living children so I am very nervous. when should I be able to hear hb? I've lost all ppregnancies before 5 weeks and none of those ever progressed to have fetal hb. I have been taking progesterone this pregnancy.
Yes, this early it is fine!! Don't worry. My first US was at 7 weeks and we saw the heartbeat pulsing, didnt hear it. I think the first time I heard it was at the 9 weeks us. Dont worry! After Heartbeat, your chances of losing the baby drop a lot.
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
10-12 weeks they will start using a doppler to listen to baby's heartbeat (from the belly's surface). I think it's closer to 12 weeks. Before that it's way too faint for the doppler to pick up so they don't even try. At 5 weeks 6 days seeing that little flashing heartbeat is awesome!
