@viabug. Ooh! We had a Maine Coon kitty growing up, and he was the absolute bestest kitty cat! Glad to hear grampa is doing okay. And I am totes jealous of Thai food Tuesdays. Must talk to DH about making this a thing ;)
@Pepper16. Congrats on that check! Totally awesome!
@KariAnn323 ypur lunch sounds amazing! Also, kudos to your friend on defending her dissertation! My dad was a chemistry prof, and my mom's a physician, so that whole field is pretty near and dear to my heart.
@Cait32. Congrats on your sister's wedding! That sounds super-fun! :)
@NYTino24 glad to hear everyone's doing okay! I was browsing the toy aisle yesterday, too... we have two neices on DH's side, two nephews on mine, and a friend's son and daughter who call me auntie. 12 is a lot of kiddos to shop for!!!
1. Grateful for my two PITA pups to keep me on my toes! 2. Grateful for our big, beautiful new backyard 3. DH brought me home a small crockpot since we don't have the propane on yet for the stove 4. Tonight's awesome dinner experiment is crockpot turkey chili! 5. When my mom calls, I feel like it's good to touch base, since I sometimes worry about how she's doing on her own 6. I have the house to myself today, so of course, BUMPING! 7. We got a small check from the family selling grandma's house, so we may use that to get our reverse-osmosis filter for the kitchen sink (we're on a well) and blinds for the main floor! We'll see... but something we think she'd be happy that we got out of it, for sure. 8. My brother may have a good job offer in a different city! I owe him a phonecall... 9. Looking forward to finding some ways to spend quality time with DH over the coming weeks... 10. Saw my neice, who is so darn cute, and her mom this weekend - for the first time since her cancer treatment. She looks great! Still have to wait and see about surgery /next steps, but it was great to see her looking so well. ♡
@BusinessWife Thank you! And so glad to hear the post-cancer treatment visit was so good - FX for her continued recovery. And good luck with the crockpot turkey chili - sounds amazing. If you have the recipe handy, I'd love to see it! Always looking for more crockpot dinners, especially now that it's fall

@BusinessWife it was super easy. I just cored out a whole bunch of bell peppers, popped them the oven at 350. While they were doing their thing a browned 2lbs of ground turkey, drained the fat and stirred in a jar of pasta sauce. Took the peppers out. Put in 2 big spoonfuls of turkey mixture, then 1 big spoonful of cottage cheese, then another spoonful of turkey mixture and topped with mozzarella. Popped them into oven for another 20ish minutes. Let the cool then covered and put in the fridge. DH and I are taking one each every day for lunch. It made 12
@Pepper16 no problem! Like I said, its an experiment with things I had on hand, but so far the house is smelling pretty good!

And this one for white bean chicken chili... you mix everything together and place the 3 chicken breasts on top. Then after cooking 6-8 hours and the chicken shreds easily, you pull them out, shred on a cutting board, and then return to the pot. Serve with tortilla chips, sliced avocado, or sour cream/cheese on top. Haven't tried yet, but sounds yummy! @Pepper16 Awesome! If you do try the chili, I would just say make sure you taste it and re-season as you go. I ended up adding more chili powder, cumin and salt, but that could also depend on your personal taste and how much salt is already in your beans. ;)
@BusinessWife Thank you! And yes, you should! It's such a great stress relief to hang out with friends after the crazy Monday and Tuesday's of the week. And YUM Turkey Chili, that sounds great! Also, you need to share pics of your awesome backyard I need ideas on how to make mine look awesome!
What a great discussion thread! I honestly must be in some kind of a rut because this is quite the challenge. I have a lot on my plate and I tend to focus on what is not getting done and or bringing me down. I think it is time for be to change my perspective a bit! 1. I agree with @KariAnn323, my TWW is coming to an end and I think I am going to enjoy the break from being quite insane. I said I wouldn't have a problem with just chilling and not SSing, but here I am all kinds of bsc and I know it. But the end is in sight and I'm either gonna get my BFP or not.
2. My son has shown vast improvements in his preschool. He was kicked out of his last placement at a daycare because of behavior issues. Now he is at a preschool that actually understands him and work with him and support him.
3. My DH is amazing. I have been exhausted for a few days (Definitely not SSing but he has picked up my slack and let me take the evenings off. This has allowed me to chill in bed and recoup from long days at work.
4. I have an awesome job! I work long hours, but I have started a business with a longtime colleague and it is just growing so well! We are looking at spaces to lease because we are already there! We are ahead of growth and financial projections and I am just so proud and excited.
5. I get to take a nice workcation in December to FL. I will be doing a lot of physical stuff for my training but it will be 6 days in FL, alone, in the winter when I live in the Midwest. I'm pretty excited lol.
6. I really like the new school I started in August. I love the online format because it is accelerated and it is only one class per month. I love everything I am learning and the format really fits into my busy life!
7. This weekend is my DH's birthday and we get a kid free date night! We are looking forward to spending time together. We are keeping it simple with dinner and a movie, but I am excited none the less.
8. My DH and I have finally gotten my 4 yo into video games! He is now in love which means we can share these things with each other. Plus I get to play video games
9. I got my free Starbucks reward today and enjoyed my free Iced double shot!
10. My dad is hosting Seafood fest at his house this weekend. He is a great cook and we are both making a huge menu of seafood items. Yum!
@viabug. Perhaps I should clarify. It's not *really* so much the regular entertaining aspect that appeals to me, as much as the part where I make a commitment to eating more Thai food. ;)
And, TBT, I can't take any credit. We just moved here and I haven't done anything yet to improve the yard. But I am pretty grateful for this incredible canvas:

Eta: There's a stream back there where a trail starts, too, I have yet to explore.... ;)
1.H is such a hard worker. Even on his days off he is always working on something. 2. My students are seriously the best this year. 3. I actually ovulated!! After my 110 day cycle this made my whole month! 4. My dog loves to cuddle all the time 5. October is my favorite month. It is so beautiful where I live. 6. My dog is smelling less and less like skunk so that's a win! 7. H is such a good cook! Plus he likes it. I am so lucky I rarely have to cook. 8. My mom told me today she got approved time off work when I have a long weekend off school so we can go visit my sister! 9. One of my friends is going to help me make salsa in a few days and I am really looking forward to it. 10. The wood stove is going so I am nice and toasty.
1. I managed to hit the woodpecker who pecks on our house every single morning and makes the dog bark with a pine cone. Couple more times and he should figure out that he's not welcome. 2. The baby shower I hosted this weekend went pretty well. The food was good and the activities were well-received. Most importantly, the moms seemed happy. 4. I'm going to watch Scream Queens at the gym tonight! 5. I have leftover veggie tray (that never was set out) so I have easy to eat vegetables for all week! 6. Last night was torta night. And it was delicious. 7. H is on his way home from DC right now. 8. Speaking of H and his work, I'm really proud of him. He takes a lot of pride in his job and is exactly who you would want your family flying with. 9. And while I'm on the topic of how much I love him, he did a lot of work on Saturday getting the house ready for the party. 10. Two wonderful friends stayed at my house this weekend. I was so happy to see them!

Yum!

And, TBT, I can't take any credit. We just moved here and I haven't done anything yet to improve the yard. But I am pretty grateful for this incredible canvas:

2. My students are seriously the best this year.
3. I actually ovulated!! After my 110 day cycle this made my whole month!
4. My dog loves to cuddle all the time
