It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
I'm gonna go ahead and nominate the parent who texted me at 3 pm yesterday, saying that she didn't want to continue tutoring an hour before we were going to start. It wasn't enough time to try to move my later session up, so I sat at work killing time for an hour. What bothers me is she has lied about her kid being sick for the last two weeks AND she talked me down in price saying she couldn't afford the going rate everyone charges. Imagine my shock when I walked into a McMansion with a GOLD SWING!!! Good riddens. I hate difficult people.

I take public transportation to work every day and this one woman is always SO rude to the other passengers and the bus driver. She gets off our bus to transfer to another and she gets annoyed when our bus is behind that one, because then she has to wait. She even swore at the driver getting off the bus! I don't understand how people can be outright rude to strangers, especially a stranger who is giving YOU a ride to work, at that! If you're running late, that's your own fault. And if you really can't stand riding the bus, drive. Ugh.
My boss also wins TW o' the day/week/year. In general, he is a chauvinist and is terrible leader. Specifically, yesterday he was complaining about being stressed and having so much work to do... yet he left early to play golf.

Today it's a coworker. Last week, he had a problem that involved a computer system that I don't have access to. However, I made some calls to IT and tried to figure out the problem. Today the problem happened again and I responded to his email with the explanation that it was the same thing that had happened last week. He responded with "Sounds like you need to follow up with IT?".
F you buddy. I have literally nothing to do with this system or your problem. I was just trying to be a good person. Bye.
One of my co-workers Rachel constantly blames her assistant for her own mistakes. One example this morning, Rachel was supposed to meet with our boss (I'm the boss's assistant) and didn't show -- my boss had me contact Rachel to see where she was and it was obvious that Rachel had forgotten (this is pretty consistent behavior from her). Rachel rushed into the office and showed up to their meeting 20 minutes late, saying loudly as she walked in, "well Erica (Rachel's assistant) didn't remind me about this meeting otherwise I would have been on time." No... you're a grown ass professional who should have been in the office anyway and definitely should have been aware on your own about an upcoming meeting with your boss. Yes, it's wonderful when an assistant can give you a heads up too, but it was poor Erica's birthday yesterday and she was out of the office. Rachel does stuff like this all the time putting all the blame on Erica, which warrants me to label her an official TW.

@peachy13 As an assistant, I would be so ragey at that woman. My boss would never blame me for his mistakes. Actually, won't even let me take the blame for my own mistakes 90% of the time because he is of the opinion that this is his business, and if there is a mistake made in his business, it's his mistake.
he had the audacity to e-mail my boss today to tell him I've been ignoring her calls. So I called her and asked what she was talking about because i haven't recieved any messages from her. "I don't leave messages. You should just know to call me back."
HOW. How would I know to call you if you haven't left any messages?
@Dilynne we must be in the same business. I have one client who is notorious for saying I didn't call her back when she didn't even call. I have told all of my clients flat out if they do not leave me a message, they will not get a return call.

Ugh, @Dilynne! There is one thing I hate just as much as liars... and it's people who make excuses and pass the buck. It's pretty much the same as lying!
I am going to add the many families I know who have beeping smoke detectors and have kids. It's fire safety month. Change your batteries, people!!! Right now I am at a house and THREE alarms are beeping. It doesn't seem to bother them. This is the kind of thing that will lead to a bad fire and my husband risks his life to save people who can't even change a battery!!!

@kiwi2628 Yes! There are several families whose homes are like this and they are wealthy with big houses, so it's not like they can't afford a battery. I could see maybe not changing ones in a hallway with a high foyer right away, but literally every 30 seconds I heard a beep. DH said it may be a cultural thing because a lot of them are foreign and smoke detectors aren't common in their home country. It would drive me nuts if I heard a noise repeatedly for months if I was in that situation regardless of cultural norms.

This. TW** My sister is a speech therapist for children and one of her clients unfortunately died this year because they took the batteries out of the smoke detector. The parents were okay but the child was in back bedroom that is hard to reach and there was too much smoke. End TW**
Also, my brother just had a fire that is displacing him from his house for three months because they left a cake on the far back burner of the stove and the dog managed to turn on the burner while they were out. What are the odds? Not much actual fire damage but the smoke damage went through the AC system and wrecked everything.
@NYTino24@Saralee797 And don't forget about CO detectors, too! H and I lived in a rental home 2 years ago and I woke up in the middle of the night after H had stood up and passed out and his body weight hitting the floor woke me up. I was so disoriented and couldn't stand either so knew there was gas and called 911. When the firemen came they said the house was full of CO and the medics tested our blood levels and said we'd had 2 hours left... We were hospitalized and ok luckily but it was all because the landlord hadn't bothered to install a CO detector!! I never thought about them until then but now I tell everyone to check they have one as well as a smoke detector when they get a new place. They're so easy to overlook but SO important since CO is odorless.

I was hoping I wouldn't have 1 this week but no such luck... my TW is my dentist's assistant / hygienist. I have had an issue with being addicted to caffeine and drinking on average 5 cans of soda a day. The last time I was there (about 2 months ago for a cleaning) she scolded me about that (understandably so) and so I thought she'd be happy to hear that I have been able to reduce my soda intake to 1 per day. I told her this today and told her I was drinking Propel water (I can't stand tap water and most non-flavored water) instead and she made me feel like complete sh*t and like my progress wasn't good enough for her. I wanted to yell at her and say "screw you! I have been drinking 5 cans / day for the last 5 years at least and in 1 month (I started watching what I eat / drink etc about 1 month ago) I cut it down to 1 can per day. You know how hard that is?." Ugh

@pepper16 oh my how scary! So glad you and DH are ok!
@Saralee797 that is so incredibly sad. Even though we are 100% electric in our house I made DH put CO detectors in our house. Not taking any chances!

@NYTino24 That would drive me insane! I couldn't take 1 or 2 beeps let alone consistently over hours or days! How do they sleep?!
