If this LO is a girl, we are considering Magnolia nn Maggie. Growing up, my grandma had a beautiful magnolia tree in her backyard. She pretty much raised me, and I practically lived in that tree. It would be a round about way to honor her. Is that weird? Her name was Helen, and I'm not a fan of it. Helena isn't an option because I just think of the capital in Montana and automatically pronounce it like that.
I love it! In fact, Magnolia is the name my DH and I love most, but our good friends just used it and now we're comparing every other {stupid, not as good} name to it!
Magnolia would have been my baby's name if he was a girl. I hope next time around I get to use it! It's my most favorite girl's name. I too, want to use it as a nod to my grandma who had a magnolia tree in her front yard!

Very pretty and classy sounding! But long...! I would have a plan for a NN for sure. If you don't start calling her a NN yourselves, other people will make one up for her, and you might not like the one that catches on.
