NOVEMBER FET BUDDIES

Re: NOVEMBER FET BUDDIES

  • @micronesianmamma that's good that you're only pushed back one day!

@kjplaza I'm in the opposite boat as you - I have a MUCH longer protocol this FET cycle. I'll be on estrace 2xday for about 3 weeks before my lining check. Last cycle was on meds for about 11ish days. I feel like I've been on the meds forever already and still have 12 days to go. As much as it sucks not being able to talk about it with others, DH and I kept it fairly quiet last FET and this one and I found it easier (with the help of the ladies on here!) It was too hard to have ppl asking and then give them the bad news that it didn't work. I ended up telling a few close friends and my mom after the fact last time and found it much better for me mentally as I could tell them on my own terms. Only my mom and one close coworker (who went through IVF) know I'm currently preparing for another FET but not the specific dates and I think I'll keep it that way.

@jodes727 I feel for you right now. We went to our consultation for this upcoming FET last March. That's how long i have been waiting to get to this point....things kept happening and the date kept getting pushed.  You will get there and hopefully you can still go through with it. Fingers crossed for you!

  • @jodes727 Fingers crossed for you that your lining will thicken up!

  • @jodes727 My Dr. would go ahead with 7.5 lining a week out. I think a little extra estrogen and you'll be fine!! Or maybe push a day. I do feel your pain. It's a horrible feeling to have no control and constantly handed disappointing news.

@MicronesianMamma Glad things are working out!!

  • @Lavendar83 wow since March!  I'm sorry for all of your delays!  You are very strong!

Thanks for the support ladies!   I just had another acupuncture appointment so hopefully that will help as well. I will go in tomorrow morning at 8 AM for another ultrasound and we will decide from there whether we can move forward or whether the cycle will be canceled.

  • Hi ladies ive been mia but i cant remember if i updated from my hsg/shg last friday all was great and i had my hystroscopy and mock transfer all was good i just continue my protocol im down to 10 units of lupron and started my estrogen patches
  • @Hoping4Success I'm glad to hear everything went well! That is great you get to lower your Lupron dosage and start estrogen patches!
  • @Lavendar83 yes im getting closer its like getting real
  • Evening, ladies!  It seems we are all just moving right along.

@jodes727 - My lining was 6.8 last Friday.  I was doing 4 patches every three days.  They added in 1 tablet and delayed my transfer by a week.  I went back today and my lining was 8.2.  I hope they figured something out for you!!

I am all cleared for transfer next Thursday.  I start Crinone, doxy, medrol, and drop down to two patches starting tomorrow.
  • Hi ladies! I've been lurking, but now that I have tenative transfer dates, I figured I'd join the discussion.  A little about me, my husband and I have been married for 10 years, but have been actively trying for nearly 2. I was originally diagnosed with unexplained infertility with possible PCOS (hubby's numbers and everything are great). After a year of being put on metformin and told to continue trying naturally, I decided to go to a specialist. During my first ultasound he informed me that I did not have PCOS, but I did have one cyst inside each my ovaries (endometriomas) indicating stage 3 endometriosis. He suggested we be aggressive and go straight to IVF with FET. So after a hysteroscopy and removal of a few polyps, I started  my IVF cycle on 10/8, retrieval was on 10/21 (14 retrieved, 11mature, 10 fertlized, 7 frozen), and now my tentative transfer dates are 11/16, 11/18, or 11/23. Very hopeful and excited to be on this journey! Best of luck to us all!

Welcome @JuliaAnn86 How many embryos  are you putting in? Are you on estrogen? Congrats! 7 frozen is great. Lucky for you they know your issue.
Ive had 3 losses in 3 years and they just found and removed a polyps. (One was ectopic, so can't blame that on the polyps.)
    Good luck and welcome!!!

@jodes727  How was your Drs appointment?

  • @juliann86 welcome my transfer date is set for 11-16 too we can be cycle buddies
  • @juliann86 welcome!

Afm,  my appointment yesterday was not a good one. It looks like some of my lining became even thinner well other parts did thicken up. However she just does not feel like my lining is ready and does not want to risk doing a transfer since we only have two frozen embryos.  So she decided to cancel the cycle. I was devastated yesterday. I took my day to have a pity party and now I am looking ahead to our next steps.
She said I should get AF in about a week but  wants to wait until December to start again on medication. I was  not thinking very clearly as she was talking about all of this yesterday morning so I am going to call tomorrow and see why I cannot start on our medication cycle when AF starts next week.  Has anyone else had to wait an extra month in between cycles?  I know I did have to wait an extra cycle in between the retrieval and starting to prep for the transfer but that was due to my 0HSS. I feel as though she is being extra cautious...but I'm not sure why.

@jodes727   I am so so sorry to hear that. It happened to me, I know how devastated you feel. Because at this point, we already feel pregnant and according to all the charts we are. We know our due date, we are ready.  And logically we know our embryos are precious, they are our future children and we need to protect them.  When it happened to me, I liked to think that this was the beginning of parenthood. Already sacrificing myself and what I want for my health and safety of my future children.

I have no idea why you'd have to wait an extra month in between cycles. My RE told me it would be 3 weeks in between failed FETs. I would think you would be able to start estrogen with your next period. Maybe they want you to shed your entire lining,  and they think u won't do that on estrogen?  If that's the case maybe you can ask to compromise by starting estrogen a little later, like day 3-5 of your period.

They cancelled my transfer that was supposed to be on September 1 the day before. They got my thyroid results back that day and it was super high. It had never been high before. I think estrogen caused it.  Because I had to wait for my thyroid to go down, I chose to do another egg retrieval. At that point I only had one PGS normal on ice, and I went back in for a second PGS normal.

If I were you I would ask them what could be the problem? Is it just the type of estrogen you're on?
Are there any other tests or procedures they recommend to get to the bottom of the issue?
Maybe they should biopsy your uterus, or put a camera in there to literally see what's up.
The biopsy is kind of like a  endometrial scratch and could help implantation for your upcoming FET.

Again, I am really sorry. I would definitely call on Monday and micromanage the situation. Please keep us updated. Feel better. ❤️️
  • @Kris10cdn  thank you so much for your response and all of the ideas.   I am planning on calling tomorrow and questioning why we can't start right away.  When we had our final consult with her and I questioned what the protocol would be if we had a failed transfer, she said we could start right away on trying again. So I am unsure why she is now saying we need to wait an extra month  when we obviously did not even get to try the transfer.  Thank you again and I will keep you posted on what she says tomorrow.
  • Hey ladies!  I am 1dp5dt. I had 2 blasts transferred. I know my transfer was in October but that post seems to be full of ladies that are at the end of or finished with their 2ww and I was hoping I could join you all as my timing seems to meld more with you all.
    A little about my journey:
1/16- First IVF Cycle resulting in 3 embryos. We transferred 1 fresh, froze 2. BFN
    2/16- transferred 2 frozen blasts-chemical.
7/16- ivf resulting in 4 embryos.
    8/16- 2 fresh transferred- BFN

Prior to starting IVF, I had 3 ectopic pregnancies 1 resulting in a ruptured tube.

After all all of that, I must say that the 2ww is the worst of the whole process. This is the first time I am joining  a board and I am hoping that it helps keep me sane!! I have not yet stated to obsess over every twinge or cramp but I know from experience that is only a day or 2 away. Lol.
  • @jodes727 So sorry your cycle got canceled. Hoping that your next one will go perfectly!

    Welcome @Jackiem119
Thats a rough history.  Sorry to hear about the losses. I had to surgically remove my ectopic, thank goodness it didn't burst. That must have been scary.
There are some ladies on here that are only a few days behind you on Nov 3 and Nov 1st. You should add yourself to the awesome spreadsheet @monica54321 made.

Did you eat pineapple or do any acupuncture?

@jodes727 Good luck tomorrow. Can't wait to hear what the Dr says.

afm, my next lining check it Wednesday, I can barely wait.
  • Thanks for the warm welcome!

Kris10cdn We plan on putting in two.

Hoping4Success yay for having a cycle buddy!!!

jodes727 so sorry to hear about your canceled cycle . That's such a bummer. I hope you'll get a proper explanation today and that your next cycle goes smoothly!

    @Jackiem119 Welcome!

AFM  I started estrace pills and estradiol patches today. Progesterone shots (eek!) will start on the 11th. And my next lining check is the 8th.

  • Happy Halloween everyone! Just wanted to wish good luck and positive thoughts to everyone transferring this week!

AFM I have an ultrasound (I assume to check lining?) and bloodwork today. Hoping it goes well and I get to stay on track for my transfer on the 14th. I feel like I was getting some crazy side effects from the delestrogen injections but we called the on call doctor over the weekend and he just said it just sounds like a virus, and not like side effects. I've been really achy all over, especially in my joints and back and neck and shoulders, especially on the left side, and had nausea and diarrhea. I was getting paranoid it was something serious but the doctor doesn't seem to think so. Feeing a little better today so that's good. Hoping this clears up and doesn't effect my cycle!
  • Just an update, so I had my lining check today, it's at 8, which my RE said is great. I start PIO Nov 8th and then have bloodwork on Nov 9th, and my transfer is still set for the 14th. I thought it seems weird that I don't have another lining check between now and then, since my transfer is two weeks away, is that normal? Anyone else have a similar cycle? I'm going to just double check when my nurse calls with the results of today's bloodwork, I'm just nervous it seems like a long time between when the lining is checked and when the transfer is. I know I'm probably just worrying about nothing, my REs office is so great and their results are higher than the national average so I am confident they know what they are doing, still I can't help but question every step of this process, haha!
  • @jodes727  - I am so sorry to hear you were cancelled.  Keep us updated on what the RE plans to try next.

@MicronesianMamma  - Looks like you are first up to transfer!

@Lavendar83  - Are you still on track to transfer Thursday?  We are cycle buddies.

@HopefulLily -- Maybe you don't have to have another lining check since it is already in a good range?  I am not sure...this is my first FET.

  • @mrs.bigcountry that's actually exactly what she said when I asked about it during the appointment.
  • @HopefulLily  - So...why can't you move your transfer up?  I hate waiting...so that's what I'd want to do!
  • @mrs.bigcountry who knows, they seemed pretty adamant about the date.
  • @HopefulLily  that is a great lining check at two weeks out!

I talked to my doctor this afternoon and asked why I had to wait an extra month in between starting up again, and she said it is due to the fact that our lab is closed for a few weeks at the end of December to be cleaned. Terrible timing for me, but I guess I necessity to keep the lab up and running smoothly.  She also said that next time we will try adding estrogen patches along with the estrogen injections that I was doing and hopefully that will help with my lining.

Good luck to all the transfers this week!
  • @jodes727  - I am sorry that you have to wait.  :disappointed:  I am glad that they are doing something different in your protocol though!
  • Well I got a call from the nurse, said my estrogen is 648 so I should stay on the same dose of delestrogen. I asked her about the 2 weeks and she said that for my protocol that is normal. Since my lining was already an 8 they don't need to check it again, but they want it to keep growing for the striping... I forget what exactly she said, something about the layers. Anyway I'm excited to be on track.
  • Thinking about everyone transferring this week. Glad November is finally here!! Time to get this party started.

I've got my (hopefully) first and only lining check coming up on Thursday.
    Me (31) & DH (31) - married 2008; TTC since 2013
SA = normal; HSG = clear; history of DVT/PE
    Diagnosed with unexplained infertility
    IUI #1- April '16 - BFN
    IUI #2 - May '16 - BFN
    IVF Fresh Xfer #1 (1 blastocyst) - Sept '16 - BFN
    FET #2 - 11/8/16 (2 blastocysts) - Beta on 11/18
    4 more blastocysts on ice
  • @JuliaAnn86 Welcome!

@Jackiem119  Welcome. Looks like a few of us will joining you in the 2ww very soon!

@HopefulLily Happy Halloween! Happy to hear your appointment went well today. 8 is great!!

@jodes727 Sorry your cycle was cancelled and about the crappy timing with closing down the lab for cleaning. Wish you all the best in your next cycle!

AFM, the twice a day POI injections are kicking my ass. I'm exhausted, my boobs are killing me, and I feel like I have one long bruise across my butt from hip to hip. At least the injections themselves are still not bad. I'm super nervous knowing my embryos will be thawed tomorrow in prep for Wednesday but I'm trying to stay calm. My embryologist recommended some songs and meditation videos that I'll probably look into tonight.

Good Luck to everyone transferring this week!!
  • @MicronesianMamma Are the songs and meditation videos on line? I'd love to see them if they are. You should share the link if you can. :) Sending you good thoughts and vibes for Wednesday!
  • @HopefulLily Congrats to being on track!

@MicronesianMamma -Good luck with the thawing and the transfer on Wednesday. How many are you transferring?

This waiting is terrible!!!  I can't believe it has only been 2 days.
  • @Mrs.BigCountry Yes, I am on track for the 3rd. I had an ultrasound last Thursday and it seemed to go good, I was actually a little nervous my lining was two thick but they didnt say anything about it.
They moved the sight for the PIO shots since  I had the fresh cycle a couple years ago and I am not liking it. It is now on the side of my hip. The nurse marked the area for us. Every shot has been really painful and bled pretty good.
How are things going for you? I'm excited and nervous for Thursday but I'm glad to have you as a cycle buddy and the rest of the ladies on here to talk to.
  • @HopefulLily Unfortunately I could not find the sheet last night with the recommendations but here is the link to a guided meditation I did last night, which really helped me relax and center. I've also heard good things about Circle Bloom Mind-Body products but haven't actually used any of them.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9wRHiXOT1U&sns=em

@Jackiem119 I'm not sure, either 2 or 3. That's assuming enough survive thaw, which I think is already in progress - SO NERVOUS! All 5 were frozen in the same straw so all 5 will be thawed. I will definitely select the 2 best but if there is 1 that's not good enough quality to survive a refreeze, I will transfer it along with the 2 best. My RE agreed to it b/c I don't want any of my embryos discarded if they have even the slightest chance, plus we didn't do any PGS testing.

  • So Excited for you @MicronesianMamma !!
If I didn't do PGS my RE said he'd transfer 3 because I'm 39 and because of my previous losses.
Thanks for the link, I'll totally use it!

afm, I have a lining check tomorrow! I'm hoping to get moved up to Nov 8!! Fingers crossed!!
  • I am currently in a state of "is this really happening?!"  Seems very surreal at the moment.  I only have two embryos, frozen together.  They will thaw them Thursday morning prior to my transfer.  If both survive, we will transfer both.  If none survive, we are finished.

I am trying to stay very positive, but guarded.
  • @Kris10cdn Thanks! FX'd for you!!

Mrs.BigCountry Sending positive vibes your way! My friends had 2 frozen, and even though they were separate, they only thawed one. That "one" is due this month! I know everyone is different but her experience helps me to stay positive, hopefully it will help you as well!
