Lingering low grade fever

Hey there,

My 6-month-old had a slight cold/fever almost 2 weeks ago. His temp reached 100.9 and we kept him home from daycare for a day, but it returned to normal in less than 72 hours so the doc said not to bring him in. Then last weekend he spiked a fever again, but since it was Labor Day weekend and we were out of town, there wasn't much we could do other than infant Tylenol. Again, his temp went down after a day or so. But now two nights in a row he's felt warm and his temp has been in the 99.5-99.8 range. I know that's technically not a fever, but it seems high for him. I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience? He's acting just fine and I don't want to overreact, but I know a persistent elevated temp can also be a sign of something more serious...words of wisdom anyone?
