Squishy lump under areola

Hello ladies!

I am 34 weeks right now.
A few days ago I found a squishy lump under my areola. It's a little larger than a dime. When I squeeze that area I can feel it's right under the skin, it's not deep at all. So I had a doctors appointment the same morning that I found the lump and when I brought it up to my doctor she didn't seem concerned at all. She looked and felt around and said that my breasts are just getting ready for breastfeeding. So I am wondering if anyone has ever experienced this. I know breasts can get really lumpy when breastfeeding, but I haven't had milk come in yet. I know she said its nothing to worry about, but I'm still worried.

  • The only time I had small lumps were when I had clogs while breastfeeding. There are lots of weird and new things with pregnancy and having a baby so I would keep an eye on it and trust your doctor.
  • Yep, that happened to me at that point in pregnancy. It went away after baby was born and my milk came in.
