Re: Mental health check in 5/3
What will be your biggest challenge this week? Getting enough sleep. This pregnancy insomnia is catching up with me and switching shifts mid week will be exhausting.
What are you looking forward to most this week? I have the whole weekend off and DH and I ordered trees that will be planted in our yard! Two matador maples and one red royal maple.
What is one inspirational phrase, poem, or words that keep you going? A constant reminder I tell myself is to live in today, don't worry about tomorrow. Just get done today what you can.
Worry is the interest you pay in advance on a debt you may never owe.

What will be your biggest challenge this week? I've been having crazy dreams about this little one being born early. I'm 27w1d and the two mommas on July's BMB that delivered early both were at 27 weeks... I'm a little frightened, because I'm a FTM and this is my first pregnancy to make it past 8 weeks. I know they say that mistaking BHC for real contractions is normal, but I'm having a home birth (baby permitting), and labor before 37 weeks at home is a no-go. I'm horrified of hospitals and it would be one of the worst possible outcomes for me. I'm stressing myself out just witing this.
What are you looking forward to most this week? Last week of my 2nd trimester! I can't wait to be at the end of this journey with my daughter in my arms.
What is one inspirational phrase, poem, or words that keep you going? The thing inspiring me right now is that for all of the fear that I'm feeling now, when this is over and done with, at least momentarily, it will all be replaced with love and joy for my daughter.
What will be your biggest challenge this week? I quit my job a few weeks ago and since then I've been having a really hard time getting up in the mornings. I did better last week but today I didn't wake up until almost 2! Oversleeping had always been a struggle for me, although not being able to fall asleep at night is now adding to the problem.
What are you looking forward to most this week? This is my last week in the second trimester! Scary but also exciting. We also have our prepared childbirth class on Saturday.
What is one inspirational phrase, poem, or words that keep you going? One thing I have to tell myself when I get down - A shitty day does not equal a shitty life. - It's so easy to catastrophize and think in extremes when depression takes hold.

What will be your biggest challenge this week? I work for a newspaper, which means my industry is collapsing. There's been A LOT of changes in the past couple months and especially this week with people retiring, job titles and duties getting switched around and a whole new system and website. This week is really stressful for me because I'm back to doing 4 jobs without additional money or getting the titles that go with those jobs. Can't wait until after the baby is born so I can find a new job! That'll take a lot of stress off me.
What are you looking forward to most this week? Sunday. It's been a long time since I've seen DH. We now work opposite schedules but we have Sundays off together, which is really nice. He worked last Sunday for some OT, which we really need with baby on the way, so I really can't wait to spend some time with him this Sunday.
What is one inspirational phrase, poem or words that keep you going? Whenever I'm having a tough time I think to myself that this won't last forever and it's such a small part of my whole life. Thinking like that used to get me through the physical pain of a migraine and sometimes it helps get me through the mental pain as well. I also liked to think to myself that everything will be OK. The majority of the time when I'm anxious or depressed everything does turn out to be OK. So why wouldn't it this time?
What will be your biggest challenge this week? Sleep definitely. I have been so busy that I am not getting to bed until at least 11:00 pm or after and I get up at 5:00-5:30 am. Not enough sleep at all. I am already falling asleep at my desk this morning.
What are you looking forward to most this week? I was most looking forward to our follow up ultrasound and we had that yesterday. Now I am just waiting for the weekend!
What is one inspirational phrase, poem, or words that keep you going? 1. If you can dream it, you can do it. ~Dr. Seuss 2. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says "Oh crap, she's up!" ~Unknown
