I go May 2nd. 5th IUI was april 16th. Since yesterday ive had some lower back pain and little cramps. Im on progesterone injections 3rd round of those so idk if maybe the injections are causing the back pains. Teying not to over think it since January I had a chemical pregnancy.

I had my first FET yesterday and am scheduled for beta on 5/10.... I thought with a 5 day transfer, I would be able to test a few days early, but my RE has it scheduled for the 2 weeks.....
    how's everyone keeping busy?
Also, I am resting for a few days (working from home).... but wondering how quickly everyone is getting 'back to normal' activities. We were planning to golf this weekend, but I'm struggling if I should or not. thoughts?

@MelD17011 I just had my first ET yesterday and they told me that it wasn't a TWW and I was surprised. How many did you transfer? I did two
  • Options
My beta was scheduled for 9 days after transfer. Def not TWW. but then got a bfp four days after transfer.
  • Options
ultratomato we transferred 1 (but we also did PGS testing). I had heard on these boards that a 5 day FET will usually cut a few days off the beta test. I even called back and asked my RE about it but she said they wait the full 2 weeks regardless. so, I guess I wait. I'm going to try hard not to do a HPT.

@MelD17011 My FET was last Friday and I had cramping for a few days. I have one "unofficial" beta for tomorrow and one next Friday. I did test early (yes--I have no control) at 5 days post FET and got a faint positive yesterday and faint positives on two separate tests today-The FRER and Wondofo brands. I'm not going to get excited until the doc confirms.

@vssbrm No, really?! That's very interesting.  No ones said don't take estradiol yesterday. In fact both my pre-transfer and discharge papers specifically said to keep taking both the pills and patches and PIO.  And discharge paper says to come back 5/4/16.  So, it looks you'll find out before me.  I can only assume they just really customize everything to the individual.  As long as it works that's cool!

@gatorloritthe thing is they didn't actually use the term "beta" with me. They just said come back for bw on 5/4.  For some reason I didn't ask questions but I will when I go next Wed.  Then if my memory serves me I think she told me that the next blood draw after that would be 5/11.  I'm trying to stay as chill as possible and not focus too much on it so time goes by easier.

@zanster now I am worried! But I can't imagine they would get it wrong. It may also depend on what the last blood work showed. Oh well, I'll keep doing what they say, but I am going to call in the morning to check to see if I need to make up for anything... Ugh. I asked the nurse multiple times and she did not come back with anything differently. I should have called this afternoon before I went back to sleep...

also, she did not use the word "beta" for me for the 1st draw, just that they check the something a few other things and HCG. So I have a feeling they won't really tell us anything because it will be so early.

I'm reading the paper work now, it says I can expect to not get a call if the blood work is normal. So I bet with bw #1 we will only get a call if something is wrong with the hormone levels.

@zanster so I called the on-call nurse and I AM supposed to be taking the estradiol today. So somebody screwed up! She thinks I had a new OR nurse, which I had never seen her before, so that is probably correct. So glad I called! Proves no matter what, even with awesome nurses, we always have to be our own advocates and never be afraid to ask all the questions!

@vssbrm Good for you for going with your gut and calling!  I wouldn't want you to miss any meds.  I'm glad you could bounce some questions off me and make some comparisons.  And thanks to you and @ultratomatofor the info about the first blood draw being focused on how the hormone levels are doing.  I figured it wouldn't be the big beta draw.  Maybe that's why part of me didn't really care what it was for since I'll still be in the TWW for another week. :). But I've struggled with low progesterone so it's still important.

Thank you ladies for your input! I think I'm going to call tomorrow and ask about a blood draw to monitor those hormone levels. I just want to make sure the nurse (who was a new one to me) didn't forget to schedule it. I haven't had levels drawn since a week before the ET and I don't want to wait until beta if it's off!

@gatorlorit I don't have any bw between ET and beta either.   But it does make sense to make sure the meds are still working right.   Let me know what your RE says please or their reasoning for waiting.

They took my blood day of ET. once that came back I found out I needed PIO shots. And didn't have another test until beta.

@gatorlorit and @zantster your welcome for the information this is why it's great to have us all discussing our process. Even though some things may be different at least we can question our doctors and nurses

thank you so much for the info, ladies.  @drove2u- that time frame makes sense to me -making sure it's stable before they put them in.  @PrincessSabert - I left a voicemail first thing this morning. and i'll let you know what i hear back.  AFM-  i haven't had my blood drawn since a week BEFORE transfer, and that makes me nervous. i know the doctors and nurses are smart and know what they're doing, but i also think it's definitely on us to make sure we advocate for ourselves.

thanks for being such a great pool of knowledge and sounding board, ladies!

@PrincessSabert - they just called me back.  They said that the blood work they drew in the preop showed that the levels were where they should be. Apparently my practice believes that there's no need to draw blood again to check the levels.   I'm trusting and believing that they know best, and that they're steering me in the right direction!

@gatorlorit thanks!  My clinic did the same thing, and I'm feeling pretty good, so I'm going to trust they also know what they're doing.  It is great having you ladies to bounce things off of, we're all sort of in this together, and all for a good cause.  :)  But, you do have to advocate for yourself too - for example, my clinic never called to tell me what happened to my extra embie, so I thought it didn't make it, but the RE said they should have called either way, so I've left a message this morning to find out for sure.

AFM I'm just trying to stay calm/happy and not stress too much.  Gotta keep smiling for the embie in me.  :)  I'm also trying not to POAS lol.  One week until my beta...so excited!!
