Pregnant after a Loss

Intro (CP mentioned)

Hi ladies, I have been lurking this board for longer than I've been pregnant, but now that I am it is time to intro!

DH and I have been married 9 years, and were TTC for 18 months. We got our first BFP a few months in, and lost it two weeks later at 5w6d. The second BFP took 15 months - we were going to start infertility testing in December. I am now 4w5d, and have been taking pregnancy tests every morning since last week when I found out. I'll take my last test tomorrow.

My Dr did a blood draw to check for my progesterone levels, and at first they said that at 12.7 that is normal for first tri, but they then called back later to say that since it is under 15 and I had one early loss before, they would like to put me on suppositories. And now I'm in another state and hope I'll be able to get them at a pharmacy in this little town on Friday, since I want to start them right away! It has made me more nervous, but I keep trying to remind myself that today I am pregnant.

I am sorry you all are here as well, but look forward to the community. Congratulations to all of you and I hope we all are blessed with our rainbow babies!

  • I asked for progesterone testing before my bfp because my temps have been lower since late July. I was 10.8 at 8dpo and found out 2 days later I was pregnant. My dr doesn't see a need to test further, but I wish he would. I'm thinking of calling and asking tomorrow. My first u/s appt is only 2 weeks from tomorrow, but that could be too late...

  • @CarrieandRoy I would call tomorrow. When you explain that you are nervous about progesterone possibility contributing to your previous loss and ask for a test, I can't see why they wouldn't accommodate. It won't hurt to call and ask!

  • Def call, @CarrieandRoy! It can't hurt to be on progesterone whether you need it or not, my doctor always does it if he can tell that you ovulated.
