Not much going on on my end these days. Got to see my RE again thiugh as a friend of mine had a consult with him (she drove 6hrs to finally be able to be told she most likely has very severe endo as well and will be getting a lap soon...her RE has been categorically refusing to even consider she had endo). He told her (as he has told me) not to worry, she'd get pregnant...I couldn't help but agree!
QOTW: living in Canada, so our Thanksgiving was a little while ago. Nothing much special except possibly looking for Black Friday deals on baby stuff (we don't get Thanksgiving, but we still get somewhat of a Black Friday).
All is well here. I have an appointment today with the perinatalogist to check the baby's heart. It's routine for babies conceived with IVF, I guess. I'm not worried, so I look forward to having the chance to see him in 3D on the big screen.
QOTW: We are finally moving! We start tomorrow afternoon, and by Saturday night, we should be sleeping in the new house. Yay!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Hi Ladies! Not much to report. Feeling better these days. Still working on the home office break down to transform it to the nursery. Making progress, just slow. I'm 18w 1d now and wondering when I will start feeling her moving around. Was pretty sure a few times that I felt some sort of flutter, but nothing definitive. I go to see my OB and also to have an ultrasound next week (separate doctors). Looking forward to seeing how she is growing. Learning that I need a more comfortable office chair!!! Yikes, my buns, back, hips and groin are killing me!!
QOTW: Going to my brother in laws for dinner. Excited to see a few out of town family and friends. Mostly excited to eat...not kidding, I've been waiting for Thanksgiving dinner since I got pregnant!! Hope there's enough food lol!!

Update, I wish it was a happier one, saw the MFM two hours away, expected it to be just routine.
Sadly our Baby B has an abdominal wall defect, which is extremely rare. Now we are facing delivery states away with a pediatric surgeon at the ready for right after birth and a Level 4 NICU needed with a possible long hospital stay.
Both babies are showing dilated kidneys as well and will need extra heart tests in about four weeks when I have a follow-up MFM appointment as well.
I thought with all of the precautions, the CCS testing, prenatal vitamins and supplements, top clinic, top lab, that we were almost guaranteed healthy babies, this is very difficult to take.
I know I am still in shock and will rise above this and be positive, but it is just so sad right now.
QOTW: Struggling to function with Thanksgiving, we have guests coming and staying, we have told no one these results.

@efhoping2010 : so sorry for these complications...do you know the name of the abdominal wall defect? A friend of mine has a daughter who is now 5 and was born with her abdomen completely open (and bowels sticking out). She also had to give birth in a highly specialized hospital hours from home so the little one could get surgery ASAP. It was all very scary then, but she is a happy and well developing little girl now, with no consequences from this whatsoever. I have my fingers crossed for you it turns out the same way. I hope they were able to give you some indication as to what the prognosis is in your case. It sure feels unfair to go through more complications when you've already gone through so much just to make baby happen. Keeping you in my thoughts!
@efhoping2010 so sorry to hear about this update, I will say a prayer that things will work out ok. Really there are no words, but know that we are here to support you and listen! Hugs to you.
I'm 24 weeks, 4 days today and last appt was uneventful...my next appt is in 4 weeks I will have the glucose testing and another ultrasound. I'm kinda nervous because I soooo have a sweet tooth and won't be surprised if I have or get GD. At my last 2 appts the doctors commented on how big I am (not me but my uterus is measuring on the high side) so I hope being bigger than normal isn't a bad thing? But why would they mention it unless it wasn't good I don't know...
QOTW: We are cooking for my in laws at our place. Since my step father-in-law has cancer, my MIL didn't wanna cook this year and he'll probably be more comfortable at our house than out at a restaurant anyways (our original plan). His son is coming too so just the 5 of us, so it should be pretty laid back. . I'm looking forward to stuffing my face, but I am not looking forward to all the heartburn (which I get every day, ugh)!
@KidShrink the term the MFM used was Omphalocele, but I do not know the full extent, he was hesitant to say too much, he is conferring with pediatric surgeons in a larger state/city currently about the situation.
I have a follow-up with my OB on Monday where I hope to get more answers, I plan on demanding the MFM report.
I know they want to see if the condition worsens in the next 4 weeks, I pray it does not.
Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers, it means a lot.

Well, last 2nd tri checkin. 27 week apt went well yesterday! Uterus measured 29 weeks which isn't a concern now, but bc of my GD I have to be careful baby girl doesn't get too big if I want to go for a second VBAC. My morning sugars are borderline too high, but she said if I keep them as is no medication needed. I really don't want extra medication if I can help it.
QOTW: we are headed 2.5 hours away to my moms for thanksgiving. She said this year I didn't have to help bring food! With 2 boys and being pregnant this was a relief. I will help with clean up when I can. She has horses and lots of land so the boys will have a blast running crazy. I told her I can't eat the carbs/sugar she laughed bc this year between my GD, my sister is lactose intolerant and we have another guest joining us that needs to eat gluten free. Our menu is going to be interestingly different!

@efhoping2010 I am heart broken for you. This news is so disappointing and yet I want to be hopeful. My niece was born and rushed to heart surgery and a friends baby needed a new heart at 2 weeks old (she received it at about 8 months). Thank goodness for modern medicine!! I will be praying for your babies.

@efhoping2010 : my friend's little girl was born with gastroschisis. Very similar, but not exactly the same. She was followed very closely (u/s every two weeks) to make sure the baby kept growing as expected, and on two different occasions they thought they might induce her sooner to make sure baby was okay, but everytime she turned out fine. I will have my fingers crossed for you all turns out fine with your two little guys too!
Hi ladies! I'd like to going the second try check in!
I am 14w2d today. We don't know the sex yet, but will on December 21' if little bean cooperates! My next OB apt is December 14 and I'm sure it will just be a quick check up.
QOTW: Since my brother and sister in law recently moved to Portland, Thanksgiving at their house won't be happening this year. DH and I will stop at his mom and step dads in the morning to visit for a bit and announce our pregnancy before heading to my moms. We will hang out at my moms for a bit and announce to her, then we will go to my brother's girlfriend's mom's house for dinner. It should be a busy, fun, exciting day and I am really looking forward to it! So much so that I may not be able to sleep tonight.

Welcome @AdorkablePixie ! I admire you so much for being able to keep it secret for this long! Are you showing much yet? I've had two clients today tell me they had heard I was pregnant (from a school I frequently work with) and admit that they totally saw it last time they saw me (a month ago). They were just afraid to say anything in case I had just gained weight!
@KidShrink I am not really showing much at all yet! I might have a TINY little bump but it's barely noticeable. It looks bigger in the evening, but that's just because of being bloated. I diehard someone come up to me at work two weeks ago and flat out ask me if I was pregnant! I was floored. She's from Japan so I don't think she understand that it was really rude to say that. I definitely wasn't showing then, especially since I've been wearing loose clothing at work! I asked her why she asked and she said I had been walking different..?? I don't think that's even a thing. I don't feel like I walk any different.

Wow, well if that's the case, she's really observant! I'd understand closer to the end when you're waddling more than walking, but now?! I was personally super bloated from pretty much the get go. I had two laparoscopies within 6 months before getting pregnant, so I have a feeling that may have made my tummy more 'stretchable', but I feel like the true bump has really come out in the past 2-3 weeks (I'm 17w2d now). It's more just in the middle, and less round all around. Kind of like a malnourished kid.
@krbjoy if you could please add me that would be great. Hello all. I have been MIA since my first trimester. Well today I'm 17 weeks with twins due May 6, and we found out last weekend we are having a boy and a girl. We are all super excited. Thanksgiving was filled with family and food. No Black Friday shopping this year, I just have no energy. @efhoping2010 I am sorry about your news. Big hugs, I will put ur babies in my prayers.
