6 week old sucking left thumb only...is this a cause for concern?

My six week old is now sucking her fingers or attemptong to suck her left thumb. Should I be concerned? I've read that early hand preference is a sign of development issues. Does this include thumb sucking too? ??? I'm so worried.

    I would ask your pediatrician to be sure, but my first thought is that she is going to be left handed. My mom said I only sucked my left thumb and I was ahead of all my milestones as a baby. I write with my left hand. Is she meeting her milestones so far? If so I wouldn't be worried

    Yes she is meeting all of her milestones. I'll shoot my pediatrician an email. Or ask her at our next visit.
