Constipation?

Ouch. I've never in my life been constipated until after giving birth to my son 4 weeks ago. I was prescribed stool softeners right away, not sure if that is a normal prescription to get or if it's just b/c I was pushing for almost 5 hours. I'm still taking the stool softeners daily and it's not easy going poop. Can't imagine what it would be like without the pills! Does this go away?? I've been staying hydrated & drinking apple juice (that helps right?)

It's awful...try Milk of Magnesia. It helps a lot! Becareful with the pushing, it can also cause hemorrhoids which is a whole other pain! I got them with my second, not fun!

Yes. I take two stool softeners a day and am still constipated. I am on an iron supplement though so that just makes it worse. And I also have a hemorrhoid, I've named him Hank. He's an ass
