I sure wish this board was more active! I've been lurking, posting a little and reading old posts for months now. If anyone is still around - I'm due in a week and getting close to our CD adventure. Just looking for some last minute tips or suggestions (or warnings!) to a soon to be CD mom!
We are using NB disposi until she fits in her OS AIO and pocket diapers. We have a mix of Charlie Banana hybrids, Bum Genius AIO and Alva baby AIO (maybe 30 total). We have just the liners that come with the diaper (which I'm a little nervous about...)
We also have a diaper sprayer, spray pal, flushable liners and one pack of heavy duty Charlie Banana disposi liners.
I know, I'm in the same boat with wishing more postage was happening on here! I saw a YouTube video saying that 36 was the magic starting place for diapers. Does this sound about right? You'll have to post on here after baby, and say whether 30 was enough for you to start with.
I definitely can do that! I think since we're using disposi for the early weeks that 30 will be enough for us BUT I'll definitely report back! I could definitely see 36 being a great number for anyone CD during the NB phase since that would be a dozen a day for three days.
36 is perfect for the newborn stage. We started Cd at 5 weeks with 21 inserts and about 12 shells washing every other day. I didn't use liners until my lo started solids because breastfed/ formula fed baby poop is water soluble in the washer. Good luck Mama!
Me 26 DH 31. Off oral contraception since 1/2012. Actively TTC # 1 since 4/2012. CD3 bloodwork, hsg normal 6/2013. SA performed 7/2013 - low count, low motility. First RE appointment 9/4/2013. Were told SA not good enough for IUI. Repeat SA and additional bloodwork ordered. RE suggests DH see a urologist. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3e32d9/thumb.png
I'm still a total noob at this but I've had my 5 week old mostly in cloth diapers since her stump fell off at the 2 week mark. Usually that 2am disorder change is when we use a disposable, just to keep things quick, and when in behind on laundry. I didn't plan on CD'ing her until she fit the one size fits all, but my mom have us two rumparoo covers to use with prefolds and I just love them. I have twenty flats that I juggle through and four covers and that would be the perfect amount even if we cut out the occasional disposable (as long as I fold the flats properly to keep from poop getting on the inside of the cover :-/ it's a work in progress). I'm planning on buying more of the rumparoo brand covers when she sizes up but I also gave a wool cover to experiment with, as well as five 2io inserts and one aio to play around with.
I'm so happy to see this post, I poke around the board still and miss all of the activity! I remember coming here for input on my NB stash and hope one day it can get some traction again. Agreed that 36 is the magic number for NB but once LO fits in one size, somewhere between 24-36 was perfect for us. Good luck!
Hi ladies! To follow up, LO is now 3 weeks old and she fits in her OS charlie banana diapers already! We started adding those into our disposi routine since we still have about 2 cases of size 1 diapers to use up. So far no issues with leaks (not using them overnight) I'm getting nervous about fully transitioning into CD since disposable is so easy...... wish me luck! Only 2 weeks of maternity leave left to practice.
