@RMM1204 I don't know where you live or how many RE's are in your area but if you feel like they aren't taking you seriously or giving you the attention you deserve after this cycle it might be worth looking into a different RE. We are on our second RE and I just wasn't happy with the way we were treated at our first. I saw the Dr very few times, usually saw his PA and they seemed to be on different pages, the nurses were nice enough but when I called the front desk with a question they were sometimes rude and it would take a day and two calls from me before someone called back. We went to a different RE and it is so different. I have a specific nurse assigned to me (unless she isn't in) so she knows me and my case. The dr herself calls me back very fast and will sit on the phone with me as long as I need. They are better at getting me appointment times that work with my work schedule. Just a thought..good luck

@rachlee2010 I live in the suburbs outside Philadelphia so there's lots of options for doctors. I am contemplating consulting with a different RE if this cycle doesn't work. I want to feel like an individual and someone who matters. Didn't think that would be a lot to ask. But for now, I am trying to look forward to my appointment tomorrow when I find out how my follicles look. I suspect my IUI will be sometime this week. The anxiety/excitement over my first IUI is overwhelming! Anyone have suggestions for keeping mellow?

Good Morning!! I am very NEW to this group. I have never been on any kind of message boards such as this although I have been ttc for about ten years. I am not familiar with the lingo so someone feel free to enlighten me. I found this board while searching for hope from others who are or have been in my same condition.
Let me start by saying that I do have a 15 year old daughter. I had a healthy pregnancy with her and she is a healthy beautiful girl. My problems began after my pregnancy with her. She was born in 2000, in 2006 I was diagnosed with endometriosis by laparoscopy.
I have managed to conceive 5 times over the years but never get out of the first trimester.
So, where I am today is the part I am excited about. I seen my Doctor (Gyn) last week and he performed a post coital test (sp?) ... the results of that test led him to this decision... We wait for my new cycle to start which should be around October 7... Cycle Day 3-7 i will take Femara (sp?) and then around Cycle Day 10 or 11 He will perform my very first IUI! So that's why I am here reading this particular board.
He plans to put me through 3 cycles with IUI's. Of course I hope that I wouldn't even need three. If the third one fails with no positive results he will send me on to a specialist. At that time I will be over 35 yrs. of age and he believes things are critical at this point for me.

Had my first IUI this morning. Took the day off today and am resting at home. I'm sore as hell from that awful speculum, but hoping it will be worth it...
My dr called earlier and said to do my trigger shot right away because we'll do the IUI late tomorrow. I'm at work and have never given the shot to myself. I was so nervous, but I did it no problem. I had to brag on myself because I'm so proud. Never in a million years did I think I could do that!

@lilmissslp - I gave myself my first trigger shot yesterday! I was also surprised at how easy and painless it was. The needle is so thin, even a mosquito bite hurts more!
Yes the trigger shot feels like nothing....the stupid menopur injections that I have to do every night sting so much at first!! It's sad though, now this is my third round so it hardly phases me anymore lol
@RMM1204 i totally understand. my last cycle was canceled bec my follicles stopped growing. i feel at some point my meds should have been increased but i saw a different re & nurse than my regulars bec it was a weekend. he knew nothing about my situation & i see him again this sat : / but i voiced my concerns to my awesome nurse & she is gonna b there sat (thank goodness!) so she is looking out for me. good luck to you! this process is stressful enough, we dont need additional things to worry about. i agree with @vssbrm, i double confirm everything .. u are ur best advocate!

This month will be by 2nd IUI while on Clomid 100mg (days 5-9). I'm seeing an RE but so far have been diagnosed (or not really diagnosed) with unexplained infertility, My blood work, HSG, and DH sperm counts all looked normal. I've been told by my RE we can try 3 cycles of Clomid/IUI then it's onto IVF. Should I be at all concerned that they're not having me come in for an ultrasound at all during my cycles? Just one additional set of blood work day 3 and 10 on my first round of clomid, which again were normal. I'm been using the clear blue ovulation tests and seem to ovulate regularly each month. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
@Bridgetly that is strange. I usually have at least 4 u/s before the IUI day. So they didn't check for cysts before they told you to go on clomid?

@BridgetLy I too have unexplained. This will be my third IUI. The first two were done with my OB and she didn't do any monitoring. I really wish I moved to an RE sooner. The baseline ultrasound is so helpful. Last month they found a cyst, so we had to cancel. I would really push for more monitoring next cycle. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been trying?

@BridgetLy I also find it strange. Clomid thinned my lining, which could have only been determined at my ultrasound. I want to say I only had 2 or 3 (I can't remember if I had an US and BW day 11 or just bloodwork) ultrasounds before O and one to confirm O (confirmation was because I couldn't trigger with my thin lining and RE wanted to see if estrace thickened it up). My day 3 ultrasound was to ensure no cysts and to obtain baseline levels. I had at least BW day 11, and day 13 was bloodwork and ultrasound to check follicles and lining. I would question your RE and switch if they aren't going to monitor you more closely. sounds risky to me and that you may be wasting time and money on a drug that is only hurting you.

I really appreciate all the feedback, I was worried I'd be bugging my RE with questions about ultrasounds, but I'll def give them a call this week.
@lilmissslp: We had been trying for a year then went to the RE who did the preliminary testing. She recommended starting the Clomid when everything came back negative.
@BridgetLy sometimes I feel like I'm bothering them too....but they get paid big bucks to do it and this is important to us. We need to advocate for ourselves!

@lilmissslp ehhhh you get so used to it it becomes no big deal! I really hope this round works for me too....my insurance covers unlimited IUI but no IVF at all. We are looking into my husbands insurance to see what coverage would be like and if I should go on his if we need to do IVF. At this point, I really just want to do whatever will get me pregnant.....I feel like I'm just wasting my time with these IUIs
@laur2444 I hope this round is successful for you too. This is our last covered IUI. IVF would be completely oop for us no matter whose insurance we use. On a teacher's salary, it would be extremely tight...but well do whatever it takes!

I went in for my ultrasound and blood work this morning, I had a different tech than usual, she did not tell me what she saw, usually they do. So now I am nervous that something is wrong! and I was too nervous about it so I not ask... I regret that now. So now the waiting game until they call.

FXed for everyone, today has been a rollercoaster, but I am still feeling like October is a good month. Maybe that full moon is in our corner as well.

Beta 5/9/2016 BFP!!
Embryo transfer scheduled for April 28, 2016 and beta test May 9, 2016 (day after Mother's Day!)
Transfer Meds include: Lupron Depot (4/1), Minivelle Patch (every 3rd day), Estradiol (3x daily), Amoxicillin, Progesterone in Oil, Methylprednisonlone. Lovenox and baby asprin added after transfer.
3/22/16 - Sono Saline ultrasound cyst to be aspirated on 4/1/16 if not cleared up by 3/29 US - It cleared on its own
Retrieval 3/4/16 - 26 eggs retrieved, 23 mature, 20 fertilized, 14 embryos currently frozen
Starting IVF Stims on +/- Feb 22, 2016
HSG scheduled for 1-26-16 - All clear "beautiful uterus" (though inverted)
Switched clinics and now prepping for IVF in February / March
