I feel like I'm the only one who's Dr doesn't see you until 10ish plus weeks. And no u/s until 20 weeks. Anybody else go to a Dr who waits to see you until later in the first trimester?
I just had my first appt today. Not with my OB, but a midwife who does first appointments. I'll be 10 weeks on Wednesday. I'm getting an ultrasound at 12 weeks for the NT scan and another at 18-20 for the anatomy scan. That's it unless there's a problem!
Unfortunately I think I'm in the same boat. Nurse apt tomorrow (7w5d) dr apt next Friday. I called today to see if I would be having an u/s and they said no. I am super bummed!
I don't see my doctor until 10 weeks. It's pretty normal. I will however have an ultrasound at that time. Waiting until 20 weeks would drive me mad I think. Every doctor is different but if you aren't consider high risk, have a history of mc or did fertility treatments, 8-10 weeks for first appointment is the normal
Many doctors won't see you until 8-10 weeks, towards the end of 1st tri unless you are having complications like bleeding, pain, or severe nausea and vomiting. Some ladies who had reproductive assistance to become pregnant or those with chronic health issues like diabetes or epilepsy may be seen earlier as well. I also know some doctors won't do an ultrasound until 20 weeks; some won't do any at all in the absence of troubling symptoms or risk factors. The point is every doctor is different. If you'd like to be seen earlier, call and ask to speak to your doctors's nurse about your concerns. If you don't like your doctor's policies, now may be a good time to look for a new one. Please know, though, that it's standard practice to wait until 8-10 weeks for a first prenatal appointment for most.

With my first I didn't see the doc until 8 weeks. This time I won't see the doc until 12. It's pretty standard I think. I am a bit disappointed that I have to wait to have an u/s until 12 weeks but at least it will look like a baby
That's what I keep telling myself @Ready4theParty! And I keep reminding myself to be thankful that I don't need an early scan because of being high risk.
Just worried there won't be a heartbeat. But I worried like this with my first pregnancy also. I'll be 11 weeks by the time I go, but I seriously love my Dr so I think I'll stick with her. Was just curious if other practices did it like this too. Thanks ladies!
