AF should arrive soon and i will be going back in for testing, since some of my tests are now more than a year old.   I also have to do a mammogram and other stuff since the criteria has changed for IVF since my insurance changed.   With any luck I'll be cycling in October.

DH and I have been casually house shopping and fell head over heels in love with a house last week.    It's a huge house and normally we could never afford it, but the owner priced it to sell.   The realtor told us that it just went under contract but the negotiations have not been going well and she thinks we have a shot at it if we made a backup offer, so we did.    I've been on pins and needles waiting for the call!

Question of the week:  My birthday is in September.   I usually am psyched by it but this time I'm a little bittersweet that a year has passed with no BFP.

    Hi All-
We saw my DH's Urologist who specializes in infertility on Wednesday and he did another SA, while my DH's count went up (not substantially it's at 13 mill), his motility is only at 1%.  The urologist feels that the blockage that was removed in February has come back, however he doesn't want to go back in and remove it in fear that it could complicate things more and not even make things better! So we are now awaiting results to see if his sperm have any chromosomal issues, if that is clear than we are going to schedule a Micro TESE to get fresh sperm for our next IVF cycle in October.  I feel like infertility and treatments are just one big game of hurry up and wait.

QOTW - We are going on vacation next sunday for 5 days, Philadelphia and Atlantic City so it will hopefully take our minds off of some stuff.  I'm also a HUGE Mets (baseball) fan so the month of September for the first time in many years is going to be exciting since we are in first place and we have tickets to a few more games coming up..

ETA- @goldenkeys good luck with the house!! My brithday is in September as well and boy do I know what you mean about it being bittersweet.. plus it's my 39th this year so i'm really starting to feel that clock ticking away.. Hopefully this will be the year for both of us!!!

I 2nd the congratulations to the BFPs!

My update: Currently 4dpiui.  I will either receive great news or horrible news in 9 days.  I'm counting them down and trying to stay relaxed during this 2ww.

Question of the Week:   Anything special (outside of TTC) happening in September for you?
Lots of work travel this month.  I have tried to back off the last 2 months while TTC, but can't avoid any longer.  On the bright side, It will give me a nice distraction.

@Goldenkeys Good luck on the house!

I had my IUI this morning, so I am thankful for the busy next couple of weeks! lol DHs count was at 10 million, she said that was excellent and he gets a gold star for the day. :)

  • @GoldenKeys I hope all the testing goes well and you get to start again come October. I hope you guys end up winning the bid on the house!

@Cupcakegal930 I hope it all ends up working out for you guys. Have a great time on your vacation and try not to think about anything TTC related. Easier said than done, I know.

@babyexpress I love it when I get to travel for work. It is a nice little break from life here, though I do miss my DH when it happens. I'm sure I'll be super moody from the progesterone, so he may be thankful I won't be here. lol!

  • Congratulations to the BFPs!!!!! @KidShrink you will get to have your DH paint that room now!

I am currently in my 2ww since my 1st round of clomid.

QOTW: DH and I will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary at the end of the month and will be spending it on vacation for a week at the beach.

@Golden Keys I have somehow been missed on the weekly checking list. We have been TTC 10 months now, undetermined dx, and treatment with provera and clomid. Also good luck fx on the house!
  • After a super stressful weekend with the delivery (or non-delivery) of my medicine, I can finally relax as they have all made it to my house! I got lucky my doctor had a sample of Follistism, so I took my first injection yesterday afternoon. As everyone told me, it was nothing, and I had a good laugh at myself for being nervous. Once the sample runs out (dr. said I should get 3 shots out of it), I'll switch to Gonal-F, which was the initial prescription. As for now, I'm scheduled to take 125ui for 3 days. I go in for my first ultrasound on Wednesday morning to see how my follicles are progressing and how the dose should be adjusted. I'm excited. I have no idea if my initial dose is high or low, so I have no idea what to expect!

QOTW: I've got nothing....boring....at least I get an extra day off of work!!

For everyone else, good luck with everything! We can, and we will get pregnant!

  • Hey everyone! Congrats to our BFPs!

I am currently on the 2ww after my first round of Clomid. I had my day 21 labs today. The hubs and I just celebrated our 2 year anniversary this weekend. We had the best time at a B&B and enjoyed a scrumptious dinner out. I feel like LauraNick2010 have the same story this month.
DX PCOS + mild male factor
    TTC since Dec. 2015
Current Treatment: Metformin, Provera, Letrozole, Trigger, IUI
Past Treatment: Clomid + Metformin x 3 BFN
Letrozole 5 mg + Trigger shot + IUI = BFP!
    Beta confirmed 8/22
    EDD 5/1/17
  • Thanks everyone! @LauraNick2010 : that's true! We'll have to clean it up first! If all goes well (bad news, seems like the anxiety of it all doesn't go away once you get a BFP), we should know the sex right before Christmas. I have my first 'baby' ultrasound on the 15th, so very anxious for that day. We're going to visit the in laws next week in Florida, so pretty excited about sharing the news with them, but wishing we could have done it after the ultrasound (chances are we won't see them again while I'm pregnant, so if we want to do it in person, it's now or never...).

Best of luck to everyone in their TWW and getting ready to start another cycle! I hope you get to have your BFPs ASAP!
  • @GoldenKeys good luck with the house! That's exciting

@AdorkablePixie haha that's hilarious about the gold star for sperm ;) good luck!

I'm in my 2ww for my 4th round of clomid, fingers crossed this is the one!

We have 2 out of town family weddings in September. It'll be nice to see family and have a little time off work...and at least if this round of clomid fails I can console myself with the open bars!
  • Congrats to the BFP!! FX this week holds more of those for the group.

@GoldenKeys good luck on the house!!

Last Friday (CD11) we went in for an U/S. Thinking I would for sure have to come back on Monday or I'd ovulate on my own over the weekend, we received great news. I had 4 mature follies (left: 20, 18,16; right: 20) and we could proceed with the HCG injection and our first IUI. Our long weekend away a week ago seemed to recharge my batteries perfectly. As we enter our TWW I plan to focus on my distance jogging/walking. If this cycle doesn't take, my OB wants us to continue with the fertility specialist across the hall.

QOTW: I am looking forward to Sept 16th, it is the first birthday of my late mother. I am looking forward to it as its the day of my expected period. If it's a BFP its special because we discovered it on her birthday. If it's a BFN I know on that day more than any other since her passing she is with me, as is my father who preceded her 5.5 years ago. Through all the heartache my DH and I have been through with starting our family, I know my parents and his mother have been our angels taking care of and playing with our future children (biological or adopted) in heaven.

T&P to all you ladies out there.

Not much to report. Still waiting on AF. Fx she comes before sept 7. That was my original EDD from my first loss in January. Getting AF that day would just be an extra twist to the knife if my heart.

@mylienc I've been focusing my energies on jogging/walking too! I'm doing a 5k on Saturday (and that will definitely be a hot mess - my goal is to just finish it) but my ultimate goal is to run a 10K in An hour in March.

@GoldenKeys good luck on the house!

@GoldenKeys - We are house looking as well - hope it works out for you guys!

I get my first U/S done tomorrow with my increased Clomid (100) to check for follicles and the thought is to schedule an IUI procedure (husband has "borderline" morphology - but good numbers and mobility)

QOTW: Husband and I are heading to the Minnesota State Fair this weekend!
    DX: PCOS (no cysts)

    History:

Cycle 1 Clomid (50mg):  Monitored with 17mm follicle ovulated on my own - BFN
    Cylcle 2 Clomid (50mg): July - August 20 -  Monitored with 22mm follicle - HCG Trigger shot - AF arrived DPO 24
Cycle 3 Clomid (100mg): Monitored with 26mm - no trigger - AF arrived DPO 13
  • Newbie here! I did my intro, just trying to participate and get to know y'all!
    1. How long have you been TTC?
That is hard to answer... we are lgbt so it's not like we can just "try". We have only done at home AI once due to my cycles. I have been tracking and preparing for 10 months and I ovulated once which is the month we tried. I later realized I didn't ovulate (since I got bfn and I'm on 60+dpo) So I guess you could say we have been "trying" for 10 months?
You could also technically just say 2 months since the ici. Even though we have only tried once (which would outrage some since I am saying infertility) I know I haven't ovulated in at LEAST 10 months when I started tracking.
    2. What is your diagnosis? Not sure, RE appt on 9/28. Long cycles averaging 60-80 days.

    3. What is your current treatment plan? Working on my weight, eating healthy, continuing pnv, and awaiting my RE appt.

Question of the Week: Anything special (outside of TTC) happening in September for you?
I am starting to volunteer with a few charities. I needed to get my mind off this ttc stress and wanted to make a difference at the same time!

RE DX for me: Anovulatory cycles/Mild PCOS  RE DX for DW: Endometrioma on left Ovary.
Reciprocal Ivf Feb 2016. DW eggs and I am carrying. EDD: 10/27/16

  • In the 2ww.  It felt like I was doing a great job not obsessing this month until I realized it is only 7d post iui :P

This month should be interesting because I start interviewing for a new job which should be interesting at least.
    ***Siggy Warning Child and Loss***

Officially diagnosed with unexplained infertility after 4 years of TTC
IUI#2 gave us DS#1 who became an angel a few minutes after birth from Noonan syndrome
IUI#4 gave us DS#2 - going strong as a toddler!

TTC again... Found a clinical trial for unexplained infertility and finished 16 weeks of "lifestyle intervention"
Cycle #1 - cancelled for ovarian cyst x3...
  • @kistra i'm 5dpiui and I have an interview also, today actually.  I had a an interview last month at 10dpiui and was in massive cramping pain.  Technically, If I do get the job, I don't have to say anything right?  I just figure, I don't know if I'm pregnant one way or the other so it shouldn't matter. At the same time, If I do get hired, i feel like I deceived them in some way if it turns out I am pregnant.  Oh well

    Married: 8/29/2009

April 2016: BFP, the old fashioned way.

  • @babyexpress you are not deceiving them because like you said you don't know if you are or not. They cannot ask you either that's not legal unless you offer it up without them asking. Good luck to you and @kistra on job possibilities!
  • Congrats to all the BFPs! That's so exciting.

My update: I'm 4dpiui. I had 5 mature follicles and DH had 100 million sperm and 98% motility. So if I'm not pregnant this time I'll be really disappointed. It's been pretty busy though so haven't been thinking about it much.

This weekend we are camping on lake George which will include lots of relaxing, boating and eating. Haha. September is crazy for me. DH birthday, trip to Frankfurt, bachelorette party, bridal shower plus more. Sigh.
  • @babyexpress and @kistra Good luck with your job interviews!

  • 1.  How long have you been TTC? Over three years ago but took a long break until starting up again in August.

    2.  What is your diagnosis? Luetal phase defect

    3.  What is your current treatment plan? Clomid and progesterone

In cd11 just waiting for a +opk. First round of clomid is complete. Hot flashes beyond belief gave me a new appreciation for any woman who is in menopause.

Qotw: Start the first month of my last semester in nursing school. Come on December 12th so I can graduate.
  • Thanks, I wont be starting my new job until at least July so even if this cycle works I don't feel it is any of the interviewers business. Right now I'm just trying to decide if I test the day before the interview or try to wait until after. I'm really bad at waiting, and I have tested at home early for every cycle so far. I don't know if getting an early negative would be more distracting than not knowing.

  • @turtle148 Good luck with your last semester of nursing school! My best friend just graduated from nursing school in May. :)

@kistra I'd probably wait. What if it's negative and you're upset during the interview? But then again if it's positive, you'll be happy. Who knows! I say do what you want.

    ** previous loss mentioned**

Sounds like a lot of anniversaries this month! And job searching and new house and travel and vacations and BFPs! I knew there was a reason I love September :)

My husband and I were married in October, but both of us are busy then and his brother and sister just invited us for a free weekend cabin up by Canada, so I guess we're celebrating ours in September too! And this weekend I'm taking 2 days off to visit my family in my home town Chicago, which I can't wait for! I get to see my 20 month old adorable niece again!!!

I'm hoping I'm in the 2WW as of today! Got a bbt drop and pos Opk yesterday, and husband and I BDed :) . Today bbt is rising but not as high as it normally is yet. If it drops tomorrow I'm going to be Very frustrated and confused. If it stays up, this will be a normal cycle length for me, for the first time in years! Big FX for that, even if I don't get a BFP on the 12th. It will mean all this lifestyle change and 8 pills a day is paying off :D in the meantime I'm stuck with acne and Headaches. Thanks, estrogen. Always does this to me :p

BUT, if I get a BFN in 2 weeks, that will be exactly when I got my BFP last year, which ended at 10 weeks. And That first anniversary is going to be hard enough as it is, without the extra jab that I'm still not pregnant. So I'm extra hoping for a BFP and praying the rainbow bean sticks :)

  • @kistra I agree with @AdorkablePixie that I would probably wait.  You need to shoot for a happy mood during your interview.  People will know if you are depressed looking and they might think you are not interested in the job.
