Trouble TTC

Intro and question

Hi all,
I've been lurking on this board a bit and wanted to introduce myself as it seems I'll be spending some time here. I am 30 and DH is 31, and we've been TTC for 8 months now. DH had a SA which came back low. He is going for his second one. I'm curious of recommendations for questions we should be asking if the second one is low as well. I've gathered he would want to be referred to a urologist. I'm just not sure what else we should be asking. Thanks in advance.

  • My husband has low counts as well. Basically the urologist looks for any anatomic reason for low counts.

  • I don't have any suggestions as my husbands count was high. I know wearing boxers over briefs can help. Maybe drinking less if he drinks? I'm not really sure. Good luck!

  • Hi and welcome.  While you wait to get your results, you can try some herbal assistance for things that are proven to improve sperm counts in healthy men.  Folic acid can certainly help, and there is something called Fertility Blend for men that many people have found helpful.  However, if there is an underlying condition (low T, etc) herbal remedies are not likely to get his sperm to where it needs to be.

GL on your second SA and I hope that the low count was just a fluke!

  • Thank you all, second test came back the same so now we have an appointment scheduled so we can start discussing our options. It's good to know we can hopefully start moving forward but still so frustrating. I'm still processing everything and am feeling anxious about what the next steps may be. Thanks again for the support!
