Ring worm :/

Hi ladies, my 17month old caught a ring worm in the pool:( the doc sent him a cream for that but it has spread to his back now! And then he sent him a shampoo so I can put on him bi weekly. However, it hasn't disappeared at all I feel frustrated because I hate to see that on his skin. Any advice or any experience any of you had with this ? What might be other options? He will be seeing his pedi on Monday but was wondering if there might be any other cures for that. Thank you!
