How do you know if you had a natural miscarrage

I have a d &c scheduled for tomorrow. I have been bleeding since Tuesday mostly light but heavy at times. They said if it became very heavy or if I passed tissue i should call. I just bled a lot but not the pad, only when I urinate. A steam of blood or something came out. I called the service and they said if I didn't pass tissue then it's ok. I have no idea if I passed tissue. How do you know? This has never happened to me.

I had a natural mc in April. Trust me you would know. Severe cramps. Gushing out when on the toilet. I could not get off the toilet for at least an hour and had to stay close. The most pain I have ever been in in my life! So much blood came out! It felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife and ripping my insides out.

I didn't have much pain my period cramps are worse, but it was VEEEERY obvious when there was tissue in the toilet.
