I am having a. DNC this week. I am super nervous. Someone please help ease my anxiety.

I had one 4 years ago, and am having another next week. It's truly a very easy procedure. Are you being put under? I chose to and would recommend it. I didn't want to have any recollection of what was happening. Be prepared to wake up very emotional. General anesthesia will do that to you anyway, and combined with the feeling of finality - that it's truly over - can feel very overwhelming. Physically I felt fine afterward. They sent me home with Vicodin but I didn't feel I needed it. Just a little crampy for a few days.

How bad was your bleeding afterward? I know everyone is different , but I will be leaving for vacation a few days later .

I only had minimal spotting for about a week, and then it went away for about a week. Then I ended up with really heavy bleeding and found out later it was because they didn't get everything with the D&C and my body was trying to expel the rest. That is not common, though, and I think for most people spotting to light bleeding for a few days to a week is the norm.
