Sharing a bedroom

Hello everyone!
Anyone have experience sharing a bedroom with their baby? How have you reorganized your bedrooms? We have a 1,5 bedroom apartment and are looking to hire an au pair for our child (I work for an au pair agency and have found this to be the best and most affordable solution for us), so he/she would take up the extra room and we would be sharing with the baby. Any experience as to how this works on the long run? We love our current apartment and location, so would like to make this work:) Thoughts and tips appreciated!
