Contemplating ptosis surgery for my 8 year old child

has anyone taken their children to get this type of surgery done? at what child age did you do it? any complications, side effect? did you have to redo surgery again?

I'm researching whether I should do it for my kid, he's 8 years old. Would like to do it before he's 18, after that insurance won't be paying it. I also would like to do it as early as possible. you know kids these days, afraid he would be teased. He has had several people asking him about his eyes, he gets to a point where his response is like none of your business attitude talk.

my pediatric ophthalmologist doesn't do this type of surgery. I'm located in orange county California.

Any recommendation? thanks in advance.
