Re: ~*Tuesday Twin Check-In*~

  • Week/Fruits: 37wks/winter melons

    Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): boy/girl

Symptoms: extreme swelling in my feet and legs...difficulty moving, sitting and laying...lot of pelvic pain

Appointment AW: Thursday: OB, NST, and US

Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns: apparently my abdominal wall is separating likely because the twins are still transverse...it is like a hernia but no intestine is coming through because of my uterus being in the way but it just makes everything hurt more...especially sitting.

GTKY: What are you most dreading about labor? Still do not want the c-section because of the recovery factor but it seems like I will need it to repair my abdominal wall regardless so I may as well do both at the same time
  • Can't take over! I'm scheduled for next week too @hchellebelle. Scheduled CS for Wednesday 4/29!

    Week/Fruits: 37 wks Winter Melon

    Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): didi girls

Symptoms: swelling in hands and feet. Achy/numb hands. Hip pain at night. Pelvic pressure. Overall discomfort. Continuous Braxton hicks, went to L & D Sunday; 1cm dilated with contractions that aren't frequent enough or strong enough to put me into "active labor". BP is now suddenly high so I'm suppose to lay on left side as much as possible and go back on Friday to be checked.

Appointment AW: NST and BPP on Friday. If BP is high may be having my girls this weekend rather than waiting till Wednesday!

Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns: now with having high BP why won't they just take them out?! It's only 1 week earlier than planned. I'm becoming paranoid that something is going to happen to one of them :(.

GTKY: What are you most dreading about labor? Since I am having a c section I am most worried about the bonding difficulties likely due to recovery time. I hope it doesn't negatively affect breast feeding!

  • Week/Fruits: 35w4d / coconuts

    Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): di/di boys

Symptoms: Crampiness, hip pain, lower back pain. Baby B likes to nestle in my ribs, making it tough to breathe. Belly feels hard, tight, heavy.

Appointment AW: U/S on Monday showed babes are both approaching 7lbs each, making me closer to 37w. Baby A is finally head down, which is great. I'm not sure if I can go to 37 weeks at this point, with symptoms being what they are. Trying to stay strong for babes. Appt with OB today.

Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns: Anyone else growing out of maternity pants? My jeans and legs fit great everywhere, except for the belly panel. Need a twin belly panel! Despite the chilly spring, I've switched to t shirt dresses.

GTKY: What are you most dreading about labor? Scared that I'll need a C section for one or both babes. Right now, looking good for natural, but I know things can change.
  • @Lbdelacruz wow good for you on the size of those babies!! I gave up on maternity pants long ago! I just didn't want to keep spending money. I've been wearing maternity leggings and sweatpants for about 8 weeks now and I am much more comfortable that way!
  • @lelaielli1987, I'm much happier in dresses now. Crazy to buy more clothes when they will be here soon! I wear leggings with panel folded down, and at night, "steal" DH's boxers which make great PJ bottoms!
  • @lelaielli1987....i am scheduled the same day :)
  • Week/Fruits: 32 weeks/Squash

    Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): boy/girl

Symptoms: Heartburn, carpal tunnel hands, swelling, back pain, no energy to walk (down to one errand a day)

Appointment AW: Went to the fetal specialist today for growth measurements (they were worried about a discrepancy in the babies' sizes). Girl weighed 3 lbs 1 oz and boy weighed 3 lbs 9 oz. They said that 8 oz (or a 14% difference) isn't enough to worry about. They only worry once they have a discrepancy of over 20-25%. Otherwise, babies look great. Everything measured nicely and no complications! Up to 1 OB appointment every week and 1 NST every week at the hospital. I have to go back to specialist in 3 weeks for more growth measurements as well.

Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns: Babies are still so tiny. Worried that if I was to go into labor in the next 3 weeks (between weeks 32-35) that the babies would need lots of time in the nicu :-( I will be trying to keep them in as long as possible!!

GTKY: What are you most dreading about labor? If I can deliver vaginally (they are both head down now) I am nervous that baby b will flip once I deliver a. I realllllly don't want to have to recover from a vaginal birth and a c section. We shall see!!
  • Week/Fruits: 36w6ds/melon

    Twin Type (Identical/Fraternal/etc): boy/girl

    Symptoms: swelling and generalized discomfort.

Appointment AW: growth scan today. Baby a: 5.5# & b: 6.11! I met the doctor today and she said no reason we can't try vaginal delivery. So happy!

Questions/Comments/Complaints/Concerns: after 2 months they checked my hemoglobin today. Severely anemic. I hope I have enough time to build myself back up!

GTKY: What are you most dreading about labor? I agree with others...who wants to have one vaginally and one via c-section? ??
