Pregnant after 35

Someone's been sleeping in my bassinet!

We've had the bassinet in our room for about a month or so.  I keep it covered with a car seat cover that was given to me.

I woke up at 5 a.m. to pee (shocking, I know, lol) and it was fine.  Got up an hour later for work and my 21-pound cat, Maximus, was in there.  I actually laughed.  I call him my baby boy and have since he was a kitten.  I told him "this is not for baby boys."  Anyway, none of my three cats have shown an interest in the bassinet since I brought it home until now.  They HAVE taken to sleeping in the bathtub my future SIL gave to me, which, I have to say, is a silly sight!  I'm not concerned about that either since I registered for a new tub and will probably buy one new anyway.

I know I should probably be a little concerned that he'll jump in there once Chloe arrives, but I'm not really.  He is a HUGE scaredy cat and hides in the closet anytime anyone comes over our house ... repairmen, my parents, ANYONE!  I think he'll be freaked out by a newborn.

Anyone else have any interesting pet stories to share?

  • lol That's funny! He thinks it's for him mom! I don't have any kitties. We have one big giant black lab and he sure won't fit in a pack 'n play.  I mostly have to watch him around toys and food. He'll chew things and eat anything. He's been a bit confused lately. We moved our master bedroom to the basement because we only have a 3 bedroom and needed to free up a room for the baby. DH falls asleep on the couch alot because our bed hurts his back and the kids crawl in bed with me a lot.. I know.. so functional. lol But our dog has been very confused by this. I can hear him pacing around upstairs looking.  Then he'll come down the stairs and look all over and he finally just discovered us down there the this week. lol   he was looking at me like excuse me but don't move my bed without telling me!

I think he's generally annoyed at the thought of another baby. lol he's really good with our kids but he knows that's just less attention from us and another kid to crawl all over him.  He just looks at me like seriously mom? I half expect to come home from the hospital and find the dog with a bag packed. lol
