TTC & Need New DR

Hi! DH and I are TTC this month. We moved from California to Ohio in January so I don't have an OBGYN out here. I am still in contact with my OBGYN in CA but I need to get in for my annual exam in the next 2-3 months and since we are TTC - I would like to get in with a doctor that I can stay with for this process. We have only been here 3 months - any suggestions? We live in Parma Heights and I work in Berea - I drive past SouthWest General on my commute to work so any drs in there would be great!

I just recently switched to Dr. Gingo at Southwest Hospital. I LOVE HIM. He's delivered a friend of mine's baby, as well. She loved him, too. He's in a single practice, so he'll deliver your baby unless he's on vacation, in which case a partner doctor will deliver. Best hospitals to deliver at on the West Side is Fairview Hospital if you prefer the Clinic. I delivered my first at St. John Westshore Medical Center and wouldn't recommend (for reasons I won't get into here) and am delivering my second at Southwest because I'm a VBAC candidate and Fairview has stricter rules for VBAC than Southwest does.

@wering - Thank you so much for this info!!! Would you deliver at Fairview if it didn't have such strict rules for VBAC? Can't wait to look these doctors up!

I would absolutely deliver at Fairview. They don't have "strict" rules for VBAC, necessarily, just a little less "grey" area because they are Cleveland Clinic. My sister-in-law delivered 3 babies at Fairview and another sister-in-law will be delivering her baby there this winter. 

Honestly - I had hoped to deliver at Fairview and sought a doctor who had privileges there. It was only after talking to my doctor who was highly recommended for achieving VBAC that I changed my mind. However - if I go into labor before 37 weeks, I will be at Fairview, no questions asked.

Thank you so much for this info! You have no idea how helpful it is! And thank you for recommending more than one doctor because - unfortunately, Dr. Gingo is not in my network But the latter two you suggested are!

Do you have any other info on the other two doctors?

I don't have anything, really, beyond the names. I know that Stokes was exceptionally compassionate when a friend had a miscarriage, but beyond that, nothing except that they were recommended.
