Change avatar but not to an uploaded pic?

I linked over to the Bump from my Knot profile, and the avatar carried over. Now I see all you ladies with these adorable Bump avatars and I can't find any way to change mine except by uploading a picture :-( Anyone know how to do this, if it's possible? I've tried Chrome and IE with no success.
