Re: Tips to get your toddler to eat veggies

  • Ranch. Haha.... that's all I got
  • I sometimes sneak veggies in using baby food. Like I'll make pancakes and put a veggie baby food jar in the batter. Something easy like carrot or sweet potato. I sometimes use baby food veggies in pizza sauce too or lasagna ..spaghetti.. Things it'll get sort of lost in so they don't even notice. DS likes 'salad' which to him is croutons, ranch, and cheese. I shred carrots like super super fine and he thinks it's cheese.

  • My 3 year old loves spaghetti and I make the sauce with a variety of pureed veggies. Of course it has to look red or he will question the contents, but otherwise he is oblivious!
  • Sounds delicious! (And probably looks great, too! :) )
  • Roasting the veggies in olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper has helped us.
  • Absolutely, the toddler-veggie battle can be quite the challenge! Thanks for these helpful ideas. One thing that has worked for me is making veggies a fun part of the meal. I turn them into interesting shapes or use them to create colorful patterns on the plate. It often piques my toddler's curiosity and makes veggies more appealing. Every little trick counts in getting those greens in!
  • I would try making this, thank you!
  • I make my own sauce and you wouldn't believe the different veggies I'm able to get in there. It's basically I found healthy way to add vegetables. Squash or zucchini? Heck yes. A bunch of carrots? You bet. Leftover celery and cabbage from my stir fry? Why not. It's always delicious and there's such a variety in there, I convince myself it's cancelling out the pasta carbs.
