Has anyone's little failed their hearing test in one ear? He failed at the hospital and Drs office. We are going to the audiologist this week. I'm very nervous and anxious. Any advice?
Mine failed twice in the hospital but passed the third time. The nurse said oftentimes a smaller ear piece needs to be used or the piece wasn't placed right (she changed both up for my LO). I would try not to worry too much which I know is probably impossible! I wish I had better advice. Fingers crossed you get good results this week!
My daughter failed one ear twice in the hospital but passed when we returned for an additional test a couple of weeks later. I was told that sometimes there is leftover fluid in the baby's ears that needs to clear itself out and it's probably nothing to worry about. Good luck!
My son failed in both ears at the hospital and we just took him back for a re-screen at 3 weeks old and he passed no problem. The tech said it is very common to "refer" one or more times before passing. I was a nervous wreck though...good luck!
