We celebrate both holidays in my house so it's a busy busy week!
I love to buy summer stuff for the girls baskets, this year they are each getting a new beach towel, flip flops, and a bathing suit. Someone told me about a really cute idea for this year...we planted jelly beans in our (frozen) garden and on Easter morning there will be lollipops of the same color growing out of the spot where the jelly beans were.
For passover this year we are not traveling (thank goodness), for the first seder a friend invited us over and for the second we're having my sister and her family over. DH LOVES to cook and does an amazing job with Jewish food. We're buying a green egg so he's planning on smoking the brisket this year
IVF #1, Stimmed for 12 days, ER 8/22/14, 9 retrieved, 7M, 7F!! Freeze all due to fluid in uterus.
FET end of October 2014 cancelled due to fluid in uterus due to possible c-scar defect
Surgery scheduled 12/12/14 to fix possible isthmocele
3/26/15 transferred one 8 cell grade 4 embryo and one 6 cell grade 3 embryo = slow rising betas for 2+ weeks = ectopic MTX shot 4/29/15
Repeat c-scar surgery June 2015
2nd and last IVF cycle August 2015, stimmed for 12 days, 2 egg retrieved, both mature and both fertilized. Transferred both 8-cell embryos on Day 3, beta 9/5/15 = BFFN
The Easter bunny comes during the night and leaves a basket on the back patio (also filled with summer items) and leaves eggs scattered in the yard. If it's too cold, the Easter bunny scatters them in tbe house
DS really gets into dying hard boiled eggs too, so we do that sometime during the week before. DS was born on Good Friday 5 years ago, so his birthday is normally really close to Easter weekend. Because of this we usually have family in town visiting for birthday celebrations as well!
I love the jelly bean/lollipop idea!! Totally stealing that FTM!
We always spend Easter at my parents' house so they always put together a basket for DD (and we still get one too as adults!) I usually make cookies with DD on Easter weekend and this year I think we'll dye eggs too.
We dye eggs the day before and leave out carrots for the bunny. The Easter Bunny leaves a small basket for DS and a larger one for the whole family. On Easter we either go to a family dinner or cook at home and keep it simple. Lots of recipes with hard boiled eggs, haha.
We dye eggs, do an Easter egg hunt and Easter baskets with different stuff in them. We have a decorative wreath outside and dress up in our Easter clothes and go to church on Sunday. That's about it for us.

Easter egg hunts, coloring eggs and DD has an Easter basket filled with small items from the bunny. We typically go to church in the morning and then have family lunch. DD won't be home for Easter morning this year so we will be celebrating Easter evening.
The jelly bean into a lollipop idea is adorable, and I will definitely be doing that next year! My DS is with his father Easter weekend so we are doing an egg hunt and family dinner at my parents' house today. When I have my son on Easter, I usually leave of a trail of eggs throughout the house that he has to follow to arrive at his hidden basket somewhere.

We are pretty observant during Passover. So I change all the dishes and pots,( basically everything in my kitchen.), clean and reorganize my house and we only eat kosher for Passover food. We usually travel to my hometown for the Seder but this year we won't be able to go. We are still deciding if we go to the rabbis house ou have something in our house( it would be just for us 3 and that seems pretty sad to me)
We also observe both holidays though Passover is my heritage
Passover will be a bit abbreviated this year as I will be traveling to the big clinic for the final stim days of IVF/ICSI #4 that weekend.
I will make a 30 minute seder using a combination of the 30 minute seder hagaddah and a children's seder hagaddah since we will have no family coming to visit so it will be quiet and small and very kid friendly.
I always have the traditional plate offerings and since we mix cultures we will have Mongolian beef for the main dish
Easter will be coloring some eggs, reading the Easter story and some candy as well

@manausmom I'm so interested in hearing about a synagogue in the Amazon!
It is a pretty small comunity. Most of the Jews here are Sephardic that came from Marrocos around 100 years ago. ( they thought the Amazon was a good place to hide after being persecuted) There are 2 sinagoues, the traditional Sephardic one and a Beit Chabad.
We celebrate Easter. The Easter bunny comes and leaves a basket. We dye eggs and this year we are going to try an egg hunt for the first time. We usually go to my parents' house or my aunt's house and we go to church in the morning.

Catholic here. Dh is not, so it is a mixed bag on Easter. My family used to all go to church together, then have a huge egg hunt at a family members house, then go to our smaller families for dinner. It used to be a big day. Now that I am away from my family, we just do a scaled down version. L & I will get up and go to church, come home and prep dinner, take a nap. Then do an egg hunt with whoever of DH's family comes over, a traditional ham dinner, and lots of wine.
