Did your husband get "fixed"?

My DH is schedule for a vascectomy. I am curious what the recovery was like for others? We had a toddler and a 6 mos. old so just trying to see what to expect. I know everyone is different.

  • I'd like to know too. @ladylisalt is it covered by your insurance? Our family dr said some insurance consider it elective. So I have to find out before we consider it.

I do realize that this post is a month old, but I will go ahead and answer your question. Dh had it done on a Tuesday. It was an hour and a half procedure, and he went home and iced  it quite a bit. Wednesday he was on very restrictive work schedule but he went back (mainly due to  his stubbornness) . But by Thursday he was walking around pretty normal, though he was on a lifting restriction for at least 2 weeks. I have a 2 year old but he was able to keep him occupied and play with him with no issues.
