Right sided pain?

Ok ladies.. I have mentioned this to the RN at my OB's office before and she never seems to think much of it but it is really bothering me! I just have this sharp pain in the low right side of my tummy. If I walk or roll over in bed.. or anything that could pull that area it's like sharp pain.  In bed it's enough to make me pull my legs in and curl up in a ball because it hurts.  I'm at work today.. I just left to run across the street and grab a salad. Literally it's across the street from my office.. so I have an elevator ride down 8 floors.. and I'm crossing two cross walks and I'm there. I wasn't like speedy and I had to have my hand in the pocket of my fleece jacket and I was just pressing my hand against it because it was hurting!  Normal? not normal? She didn't seem worried about it when I told her but maybe I wasn't expressing myself enough.

Sounds similiar to what I had with DS and it was round ligament pain. It was really bad when i would roll over in bed at night. That being said, if you're really concerned don't be afraid to push the point with your obgyn, they should at least give you a rational explanation for the issue and not just dismiss it.

I have it to and I think it is round ligament pain. I just have to move slower and watch how I sit up and roll over in bed.

yeah, round ligament pain.  It really hurts too!  MIne comes and goes.  Some days its all day long.  Some days I am fine all day.  I find fast, sudden movements tend to flare it up.  Also, I swear if my bladder gets full it will bring on round ligament pain so much easier.

Ugh. I did google and all the other reasons it mentioned don't really fit my symptoms so it must be RLP but holy crap it hurts. It's not even sudden movements either. It's almost every time I move at all. I roll over and it kills.  I walk a little bit and it hurts. I get out of the car and it hurts. It's like c'mon cut me some slack here ligaments! For some reason, I can't lay on my left side at all. Unless I'm totally in a fetal position. All the docs always say to count kicks and lay on your left side.. I have to lay on my right. If I lay on my left it's like I get sharp pains all the way up my belly. It's weird. It hurts and I just can't stay like that. Even if I wedge a pillow underneath my belly I still have to move to my right side.

June 3rd seems way way too far away!!  I'm expecting to delivery around May 20th because of the injections I'm on but even that feels so far away. I am soooo ready!

dont worry about laying on your left side.  They always say that because generally thats a good position as its optimal for blood flow and brings BP down.  But if it hurts, position in another way!

I think I'm a lost cause. lol Now my sciatica is kicking in big time. I could hardly walk last night. I was hobbling around in pain. if I lay on my left side and shove a pillow under my hip.. it eases the sciatic pain but makes the abdominal pain worse. If I lay on my right side, the abdominal pain goes away but my hip hurts like hell. lol geeesh.. is it June 3rd yet???  I am ready.

I was having sharp pains on the left side only. Doctor got me in for a us because I hadn't had one yet and they were concerns about ectopic. Baby is in the right place and measuring 7w 4d :) heart beat of 141. They couldn't figure out the pains, said it could have been the side I ovulated on (not sure what this would have to do with it) or RLP. Good luck to you!

Yuck!  I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.  I don't have any experience with RLP, but I can commiserate with the hip pain when sleeping - I have two bad hips, so sleeping on either side causes pain bad enough to wake me up and make me flip over.  Both my OB and my physical therapist recommend sleeping halfway between being on my back and on my side - basically I take my body pillow and lay it under one side of my body lengthwise to sort of prop me up at a 45 degree angle, if that makes sense.  That way, there's not so much pressure on my hips, but I'm not completely flat on my back.  It's a little awkward at first, but it does seem to help alleviate the hip pain, so maybe it's worth a try for you?

Also, I would try to talk to your nurse or doctor again and emphasize how badly it hurts and how much it's affecting your sleep and daily activities.  Perhaps they will take you more seriously and give you some additional suggestions.  I hope this helps!

ewenner  that's almost exactly how it is for me.  It hurts to lay directly on my hip and my leg will even go numb. I usually shove a pillow wedged under me and that helps but eventually I have to flip over. I do the 45 degree angle thing too and that does help somewhat.

So I went to my OB yesterday for my normal appt. First, I was a little surprised that he keeps talking to me about the same post partum stuff every single time. I see them every 2 weeks because I'm technically high risk.. I actually go every week for makena injections.  But every 2 weeks I see the actual doc and he's like ok so we know that we don't want intimacy for 6 weeks.. use condoms.. are you breastfeeding.. OMG I know this already.. this is my THIRD child and my 6th pregnancy. lol  Not my first time around the block.  I asked about my sciatic and all they told me to do was try cat's stretches.. so I tried those last night but they're kind of uncomfortable to do with my big belly.  I felt like I really couldn't get a nice stretch. I was trying to do pelvic raises too but they really didn't help either.
