Has anyone else gone through these tests?

Hi All. I'm new-ish. I was on the other boards in May/June of 2014 when I
found out I was pregnant but then miscarried at 7 weeks. I've been
trying to conceive since then and no luck. Being 33 years old, I figured
it's time to start the testing to see if anything is wrong. As well as
having my husband get tested too, which we did today. I had my first
blood test on day 25 of my cycle...meaning I got my period 4 days after
the blood test. I don't know if that's the best time to test but that's
what my doc told me to do. The test was only for progesterone levels and
I got my results today. It was 4.6 ng/ml and I have no clue if that's
ok or not. The doctor hasn't called me yet letting me know what that
means. I went for another blood test today (day 3 of my period) so
waiting for those results now as well as the sperm test. This is just so
stressful. I'm willing to do insemination if all else fails.

for CD25 a P4 of 4.6 is pretty low. Everyones body is different, and some people have issues with progesterone production because of ovulation issues (and other reasons). If you in fact got your AF 4 days later I would have expected your level to be more than 15.... But I'm not a doctor. You would benefit from discussing the results with them.

I went through all the blood tests after my third m/c in November. My progesterone level was 4.08 on day 22, which my doc said was much lower than desired. The ranges on the results that you're supposed to refer to are a little vague since they're so wide (at least it seemed so to me) but I believe I remember my nurse saying that they would have like to have seen at least an 8, but closer to a 10-14 level at that point. All of my other bloodwork came back normal (are they going to do all the standard tests on you or just the progesterone?) and I was put on progesterone suppositories. Don't have a lot of insight yet on those as I've only done them one cycle, but I wouldn't be surprised if your doc suggests something similar. They aren't bad! They do a number on your cycle and my hormone levels completely wigged out the first month, but from what I've read they help reset and regulate so your body becomes more able to sustain early pregnancy. Good luck!

@winnie1122 I got other blood tests on the third day of my period which is thyroid etc. and everything came back normal so I really only have this progesterone issue. My doctor said to try naturally for two more months and then she will put me on clomid. I don't really want to take clomid with her so I will probably ask her if I can see a RE. I have heard from others not to take clomid until you have ALL the tests done to make sure there aren't any problems. So, probably by May I will be getting ready for these other tests.
