I could have sworn you followed us over to the dark side.
Hey, can you remind me how you figured out that one of your boys was allergic to oats? P has been rashy since Christmas, and the only thing I can think of that I introduced around then that she has consistently had is oat cheerios. But I eat oatmeal every single day, why would she react to cheerios but not my oatmeal?
Thanks! And don't tell anyone I was here.

Lol, your secret is safe with me. I am going to set up an account, but just haven't had much time this week. I'll be there soon!!
We introduced oats early and didn't have any issues. But, after a few weeks, he got some bumps around his mouth. The rash started to look like a little mustache/ goatee and would appear after eating. Mother of the year, right here, thought it was everything but the oats. So, of course that's the last thing I eliminated. The rash started to spread across his torso. He also had reactions to lots of lotions (even if another adult touched him after applying lotion), but we just thought he had sensitive skin. In retrospect, he was reacting to the oats in the lotions. And, then the eczema popped up along his diaper line. So, we stopped oats for a month or two and everything cleared. We gave it to him one last time to confirm suspicions. Cue the mustache rash and the projectile vomiting. Even now, he will break out in a rash around his mouth or hands if he is exposed (we recently went to an animal park and he came home all bumpy. I called the park and they told me the first ingredient in the animal feed was oats. Mom for the win).
While nursing, I ate a lot of oats for my supply. He had some unusual diapers, but he also had sensitives to cheese, chocolate, and sausages. The diapers were usually after I had one of those items- not oats. But, who knows if he was bothered and I never noticed.
Where is P's rash? Does it come and go with meal times? Those were the big triggers for us.
HTH! I'll see you soon on the dark side!!

We introduced oats early and didn't have any issues. Same here, she seemed fine with oatmeal right at 6m, but never liked it. But, after a few weeks, he got some bumps around his mouth. The rash started to look like a little mustache/ goatee and would appear after eating. Mother of the year, right here, thought it was everything but the oats. I was doing the same. So, of course that's the last thing I eliminated. The rash started to spread across his torso. He also had reactions to lots of lotions (even if another adult touched him after applying lotion), but we just thought he had sensitive skin. In retrospect, he was reacting to the oats in the lotions. There was oat in our new moisturizing body wash. Mom for the win allergies are freaking hard!).
While nursing, I ate a lot of oats for my supply. Yep He had some unusual diapers, but he also had sensitives to cheese, chocolate, and sausages. Dairy, soy, and nuts for sure so far, possibly banana and avocado. The diapers were usually after I had one of those items- not oats. But, who knows if he was bothered and I never noticed.
Where is P's rash? The worst of it is on her neck, but she also has a very eczema-y hiney. Does it come and go with meal times? Her whole body was red after dinner last night, she had cheerios and corn. Those were the big triggers for us.
HTH! I'll see you soon on the dark side!! Yay! There are donuts over there.
And thanks to you too @luvboston. That's a good point, as I don't tolerate gluten well.
