Femara and Menopur IUI Cycle

My wife and I are in the "Trouble Trying to Conceive" category for sure! Our first strike against us is the lack of sperm in our same sex relationship. That is an easy (yet expensive) fix! Now on to the hard part! 

There have been many ups and downs fertility wise over the past few years. We are lucky to have two female reproductive organs in this family. Only trouble is, we can't get a baby in either one of them! We have had an IVF cycle where eggs did not survive, hysteroscopy with a polypectomy, strange conversations about how to buy sperm, etc... but the worst of all is that period every month. So after a few years break, my wife is up for it again!

Here is what we are looking at: 34 years old, previously unable to ovulate on her own, was given hormones and injectables last go around to get things back on track and eggs died after egg retrieval... two years later hormone levels are in the normal range (but low) and we are going for an IUI this time. Taking Femara days 3-7 and then Menopur 7-9. Will go back for an ultrasound on day 12 to check progress and hopefully be ready for a trigger shot and IUI after that.

Anyone have any advice or similar situations? Any side effects we should look for with either medicine?

I find the meds cause mood swings but other than that I've done fine on them. Best of luck to you.

Femara makes me have horrible headaches and trouble sleeping. They usually last until about 2 days after I finish my meds. I haven't taken Menopur yet. Good luck!

I too have suffered terrible headaches from the stimming meds.  I had issues with bruising if I gave them in my legs, so I stuck to my abdomen.
