I have been feeling kinda crappy the last couple of days with low back pain, hip pressure. Contractions, frequent urination and pelvic pressure started today along with some *TMI* nasty thick white discharge. My midwife is concerned that maybe it's a UTI and that my cervix is possibly starting to dilate. Hoping for a UTI and that it's a simple fix but still very worried. It's hard not to worry. I'm now sitting in the ER waiting room been here for an hour. Hopefully get into a room soon. Thanks for listening.
*edit because I'm nervous and not thinking clear*
**UPDATE** (I also posted this in the comments but I know it's hard to find updates there) Thank you all so much for your love and support! Luckily (I can't believe I am happy about this) it's bacterial vaginosis. They don't even treat it because the treatment can cause preterm labor. The baby had a good strong heartbeat everything is still all closed up tight. So thankful. The ER Doc basically said that all of the aches and pains are from being pregnant with my third and having to chase a 2 y.o.
Hoping that all is ok. Thinking of you and sending good vibes.

Great to hear that all is well and yay for being happy about having bacterial vaginosis! That's seeing the silver lining on a whole new level. Good on you! Hope you recover quickly from BV and have a healthy pregnancy going forward.

Im glad it is only BV, which is quite common in pregnancy. But I find it odd that it is not being treated.
I had BV last pregnancy, i had zero symptoms and caught it by accident but my doc advised to treat it to be on the safe side as it can at times lead to complications. And all I did was take antibiotics with some probiotics I believe.

Thank goodness! So glad you are okay! There are lots of pregnancy safe, natural things you can do to treat BV during pregnancy.

I called my midwife she is calling the OB that was on call last night and is going to ask her what her thought process was on this and then she is going to get back to me. Thank you all for your support and advice. I am still feeling so cruddy with the worst back pain I have ever had with a pregnancy still all of the same symptoms so I agree in getting a back up opinion. Thanks again!
Glad everything is okay and the diagnosis was BV but also agree with other posters about a second opinion. I had BV and was treated at 16 weeks with antibiotics and was advised to take probiotics (as the antibiotics can cause yeast infection). I was also told that it is treated because it can cause preterm labour but I believe that there is conflicting opinions about that. Hope you start feeling better soon!
@Sugarbean17 , glad it's nothing major and that baby is doing well! I can't imagine chasing a two year old around while pregnant! Chasing my two dogs is enough to leave me down an out for the count!!
Just as a double reassurance my midwife had me go in for an ultrasound of my cervix to make sure my backache wasn't actually preterm labor. It came back good, my cervix is closed and a little over 4cm in length. After getting a couple of other opinions my midwife suggested that we don't do the treatment for the BV unless I begin having troublesome symptoms like burning, itching, etc... So everything is looking good. Thank you all for suggesting I get a second opinion. It helps having peace of mind. I guess I will just need to get used to being sore from being pregnant and chasing my toddler. I can't wait for the second trimester to finally start being more kind to me.
