Freaking Out ***Updated Again***

If you could say a prayer/send good vibes our way it'd be greatly appreciated. I woke up from a nap with some cramps and started gushing blood everywhere and it hasn't stopped. We're on our way to labor and delivery now, but I can't but help freak out. Has anyone else had this happen and had it turn out to be ok?


*update*
This will be quick since my phones dying and I forgot a charger. Looks like I have complete placenta previa and there's a tear which is causing the bleeding. I've been admitted to l&d and will probably be here for a couple days. I'll update when I have more info. Thanks for all the good thoughts :)

I get to go home today! The bleeding has slowed down quite a bit after the transfusion and the babies look good (they confirmed we are team purple). I have a follow up appt with the mfm on Wednesday and am in bed rest at home until then. My OB said that I will most likely be off work and on modified bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy. She said that a lot of the times the previa will normally correct itself, but because of the way baby a's is lying and is a complete previa she doubts it will but will keep an eye on it.

    Me 27 DH 29 Married since 2007, together since 2001
    Off BC since Febuary 2006 3 Clomid Cycles in 2008- symptomatic, US just showed a tilted uterus, otherwise normal, HSG normal.  DH has an ejaculatory duct obstruction and a congenital absence of the vas deferens.  This is common with cystic fibrosis carriers, but he doesn't have cystic fibrosis. IVF #1 with TESE/ICSI (Antagonist protocol) Aug 2014=BFN (poor embryo quality)   IVF #2 ICSI long lupron protocol November 2014

     First Re appt was September 2013 OOP for everything minus meds  
    DH's TESE surgery December 2013
    First cycle was February 2014 BFN none to freeze
     Second cycle was April 2014 BFP ending in Chemical Pregnancy none to freeze
     Third cycle June 2014 BFN none to freez
     Fourth cycle October 30th 28 retrieved, 13 mature and 12 fertilized
    PICSI, assisted hatching and fresh sperm from my DH's TESE surgery used
    5 FROZEN from a freeze all cycle!

    I'm sorry, that's so scary. Fingers crossed everything is fine. I've had a few heavy bleeds earlier from an SCH and a low lying placenta, so it's possible to bleed and still be ok so hopefully that is the case for you.

    I had to google previa as I'm not familiar with it but I read that it has a good chance of correcting itself as your pregnancy progresses. Since you are only 17 weeks, does the dr think it might correct itself? Otherwise it says that you would need to opt for a c section.

    Hope your are keeping yourself busy while at the hospital and that you get to go home soon!

    Thanks for sending us the update.  Is the placenta previa causing the cramping too?  Sounds like you are in good hands now.  Still thinking about you - and hoping for more positive updates to come.

    So glad to see this update. So happy the babies are doing fine!
    Me: 37, DH: 38: ttc 7 years, dx: unknown
    10/11: after 2 years, saw a RE, FSH 5.4
    11/11: BFP! (surprise after thyroid & normal hsg),
    12/11: missed m/c after 7 week u/s, 1/12: D&C
    6/12 IUI#1-IUI #3: clomid = BFP!, C/P
    IVF #1(10/12) FSH 5.4, AFC: 16 long Lupron, 5R/5M/4F, all 4 made it to 5dt, 1 blast/1-8 cell transferred=BFN
    IVF #2(12/12)AFC 21, MD lupron, 4R/4M/3F, 5dt of 1 blast and 2-8cell. BFN.
    IVF#3(4/13) Natural start antagon protocol, 12R,11F. one PGS normal at day 6 transfer. BFN.
    IVF#4 (11/13) C.CRM (ODW.U normal 8/13 Still no Diagnosis) EPP/antagonist. ER 13R/7M/6F. Only 1 made it to freeze. Abnormal. Looking into options of DE, Fresh vs frozen.
    10/14 new local RE to look into what's next. CD3 FSH 4.7, AMH 0.9. Met with DE agencies and exploring options for feb/march 2015.
    Surprise natural bfp (4 days before donor is signed). Beta #1 at 9dpo: 51.8, 2nd beta: 195 (25 hours doubling) @11dpo. 3rd beta (12/15): 516 (35 hrs doubling) 4th beta(12/17): 895 (58 hours doubling) 5th beta(12/19): 2120. U/S at 5w0d(12/22): one gestational sac with yolk sac. U/S #2 (6w0d)12/29. One little bean measuring 6w0d with HR 124. 3rd u/s(1/4)7w0d: baby measuring 7w2d. HR 134. 3/30: A/S at MFM went great except for low lying placenta. Verifi results are normal! Team Blue! Please send any positive thoughts our way! EDD:8/24/2015

    Unfortunately I'm not able to work from home so I'll have to start my leave early, and will probably (hopefully, because I want them to stay in as long as possible) use most/all of my leave before they get here. I'm not sure what will happen then, but the babies are our biggest priority.

    Modified bed rest without the option of working from home stinks - but of course, I think you're making the right choice.

    I'm glad to hear that things have stabilized and both babies look healthy.  FX that your placenta will beat the odds, and move up and away from your cervix.

    IVF cycle 1 - ER: 4/17 (28 follicles, 3 fertilized, 2 survived to day 3);
    ET: 4/20 (3rd day, 2 embryos - 1 @ 6 cells & 1 @ 4 cells); Beta 5/1 - BFP!; 
    1st scan 5/13 - development behind, no heartbeat detected; D&C 6/2; WTF 6/13
    IVF cycle 2 - BCP begun 7/12; stims w/ HGH begun 7/26; 
    ER: 8/6, 12 follicles, 7 fertilized w/ ICSI; ET: 8/11, 3 blastocysts left, 2 transferred, 3rd arrested 8/12 - none to freeze :'(

    While bed rest sucks, it's still good news to hear that everything is relatively okay. Congrats on being team purple! I also 2nd looking at short term disability and/or long term disability - most workplaces have something in place! GL!

    Glad you are headed home.  I know bed rest will be tough but hang in there.  I agree with PP to definitely look into options with short term / long term disability.

    Yay for heading home!  Look into short term disability.  My director mentioned it to me as an option if I ended up on bed rest.

    How very scary but so glad to hear you are heading home and that the babies are ok.

    Hope you are able to go on s-t disability so you don't use up your mat. leave but the most important thing is to rest up.

    Thanks for the well wishes ladies! I'll double check with the STD but long story short, I started a new job in September because it had fertility benefits (was OOP) and wasn't sure if our FET would work, and my STD doesn't kick in until Feb 1st. I'll have to check to see if it'll cover a pre existing condition, and if not I'll have my state protected leave for 12 weeks and who knows after that. If I do lose my job, I'll lose my benefits (can go on DHs) but my manager told me he'd rehire me when I'm ready to come back.
