I'm about to have two weeks off with DS but I'm at a loss of what to do with him each and every day. We live in a small town so there isn't a lot to do.. I'm trying to find out what I can do with him at home... Any and all ideas welcome!

Owen loves legos. We could build for spurts of 20-30 minutes all day. We also still walk around the house/yard talking about things. His favorite question is 'what's this'. We talk about people, color, texture, etc. He enjoys the conversation even if it makes no sense to him yet.
Kids this age are able to entertain themselves pretty easily. I normally have a routine where we do an outing/activity each day (library, playgroup, playdates, etc) but on days we do stay home, she can amuse herself with pots and pans, playing in the dog's water bowl, really anything...in addition to her normal toys and slide. I wouldn't over think it, and just enjoy the time together!
Dd can entertain herself pretty good but when we play....We do puzzles, coloring, I push her in her little car, we make forts and play hide and seek, we have tea party's with her little dolls, she likes pretending to Cook and stuff. I can't wait for her to have her kitchen set. She also will watch a movie or show.

It's a girl!!! (:

I've been wondering the same thing too! I'm also off for 2 weeks and I have no idea what to do with Emmett. I was home with him for about 5 days a few weeks ago when he was sick, and we were both going crazy. He LOVES going to daycare and hanging out with his older cousin during the day. I'm convinced that he's bored to death when he's home with just me.
One problem is that I'm trying to keep him away from public places as much as possible right now. I know I can't keep him away from all germs, but I'm so afraid of another wheezing episode. However, being stuck at home makes us both a little stir crazy.
I can't wait for Christmas because Emmett majorly needs some new toys. The ones he has a pretty babyish, so he tires of them easily.
I was home with DD for 11 days around thanksgiving and stressed a little beforehand, but it went well. One day we raked leaves, two days we went to the children's museum. Two days we did shopping trips. Thanksgiving was in there. We went to my parents one day. The rest we hung out at home. You'll be fine. There's only a few days to get through before the holidays and then they'll have new toys. Enjoy it...it'll be over before you know it
3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)
IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets
Natural BFP #4 on 9/7/12 gave us our miracle on 5/18/13
We try to have outside play at least an hour a day. Some days we go to the playground, or we play basketball or we just let him run around. Most days we also do either a storytime or a playgroup for an hour. He likes going to the grocery store. Otherwise he "helps" with my household tasks....making beds, doing laundry and loves to play trucks, read or play music.
I think mostly just give him some time to explore outside and just enjoy this special time with your son. The whole world is just exciting, new and magical to him and he will love being with you.
Legos, reading books, baking (she loves to help), playing with her babies, clean (she takes baby wipes and has to wipe EVERYTHING down!) if it's nice, we play outside
C is obsessed with wiping everything down with baby wipes while I clean too!
We read books, play with toys, run errands or have a play date, watch a cartoon, run wild...lol, etc.
Thank you guys!!! I was feeling like a failure because I never really have structured ideas and for whatever reason thought it must be a necessity. I'm glad it's not!!! I love the idea of getting out even if just for coffee. We also have a big yard so exploring a couple times a day should kill some time. I feel much better. Thank you!!!

uh.....anyone wanna swap kids? mine won't play by herself. ever. it makes for really really really long days in our house
My kid is the same way. She can entertain herself for short periods of time but I have to be right there with her. Otherwise she follows me wherever I'm going and says "mommy pick it up, mommy pick it up!"
I SAH and C does not play independently for more than maybe 5 minutes. It's "mama! Mama! Mama!" All day long! My mom calls him demanding. I'm glad he's not the only one.
Re: How do you keep LO busy during the day??
